I have a 1992 baby blue Prostar 205 that I would like to refurbish. I am starting with a new/rebuilt carbuerator. Also, I would actually like to change the hull color to a more navy or royal blue. Is that possible? Then I want to get the vinyl redone to match the new hull color. Any advice?

Welcome David. Check out this thread: http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=8340.
Looks like there are differing opinions on painting your boat. I believe Jeremy79 and yellow78mc painted their boats with excellent results. Maybe they'll chime in here or you can send them a pm.

Welcome. As far as rebuilding the carb, if it is a dual feed 4010 (stock on the 285 hp), I'd advice to replace with a 4160. I had no luck with the 4010, even after a professional rebuild. Just my experience.

As far as changing the hull color, that sounds like an extremely expensive undertaking. If your hull is faded or dull, some wet sanding, polishing, and buffing would be best.

Got any pictures?

David, Do you just want to change the stripe~accent color, or the base hull? If it's the stripe, you can use dupont Imron paint. My father-in-law did this for me on my 89 Tristar and it held up very well for years, and the boat sat in the water for 6 mons a year. That paint wears like iron. good luck and post some pics....
