View Full Version : Pylon Extenders

I am looking to get a pylon extender this season and I need some opinions.

While we would use it for our more experienced wakeboarders for air, it would primarily be used so that folks can sit in the back of the boat while we have someone out skiiing, wakesurfing, wakeboarding, etc...

Any thoughts on what I should get?

I know an option is to just hook up the rope to the transom, but I like to have a bit more control of everything right near me. I don't want to have to climb over people who are sitting in the back.

We have some family and friends that are not that experienced, so I have to keep control of the happenings, if you know what I mean.

Any thoughts would be great.

It's a good idea, IMO. I think these can be had on ebay for around $150. Fly-High (I think) manu. extended pylons.

If not, a tower would be a great option (probably $1500-2000 for a nice one) and allow you to store your gear out of the way.

Good luck.

I had an extended pylon on my 2k PS last year. It was $300 at Overtons. It was ok and reasonably priced.
I put an NDT zeroflex on for this year, it looks awesome and allows for board and ski storage. Gets everything out of the boat and opens it up.
Adds value to the boat as well. I got it for around $2k which is not bad for a custom made to fit tower, but it is a bit pricier than the extended pylon.

NDT are the best towers for these ski boats. And I agree, it def. adds value to your boat. I purchased a 190 last summer that I might not have if it didn't have a tower already.

I have a used pylon that I was about to throw on ebay. I haven't taken any pictures of it yet nor do I know the specifics, I know it went over my pylon in a '86 MC Prostar. If interested, please reply and we can take it from there. $100 plus shipping..

I had a pylon on my last boat and while they are much better to wakeboard from they are a little cumberson taking up down, cable to the front ect......If you buy one used you can always get your money back if you decide to get a tower...

Thanks for the replies. I do not have an issue with the gear, so a tower may be a bit high in price right now.

The extended pylon will accomplish what I am trying, which is to have family sitting in the back when someone is skiing, correct?
