Does anyone here own a limited edition 1993 25th anniversary pro star 190? Silver stripes with stars. Are there any pictures or info. on that model?

Not sure which one you're talking about. The 190 Ltd (25 made) was a silver metalflake 190, but no stars. All were supposed to come with the new (at the time) Corvette LT-1 engine, but I recall reading that one was made with the 351HO.

On the other hand, the 190 Stars and Stripes was an upgrade offered that year through July 1993. The boats came in red or blue metalflake and had the stars and old school MC font. The interior was white with accent piping and matching blue or red carpet. The upgrade was in the $700 range.

I don't own either, but they are among my favorite MCs produced. I've got a .pdf of the 93 brochure and WSM Boat Buyers' Guide from that year that has lots of pictures and info. I'm out of town at the moment, but can email them to you next week if you wouldn't mind dropping me a reminder PM.

There are three in AR(well, as as of last year), and one of them has the only Ford engine that was put in them. Great boats but that if you left the underwater gear polished, it hummed a tune after 32 mph.

The humming wass a ghost of a problem till we visited the plant in the Spring of 1993 and somehow the subject came up and we told them that it was the polishing that caused it. Props, struts, shafts, stuffing boxes and even transmissions were changed but the whine would not go away, but then they confirmed that the more tarnished the polished tracking fins got the less the noise was evident. Ours whines from 28mph to about 34mph then it goes away. I kind of like the sound myself.

The "Platinum" ProStar was the 1988 20th Anniversary and only 20 were built. Skidog had one of them!
1991 was not a 5th year Anniversary year. Limited Edition Anniversary boats were built in 1988 (20th, 20), 1993 (25th, 25), plus Special order Stars an Stripes (Red or Blue Metalflake), 1998 (30th, 30), 2003 (35th, 35) and in the 40th year, starting soon, there should be 40 built.

It was a 1990 ProStar190 Limited Edition, Black hull/deck with what was called in the 1990 brochure a Metallic Pearl (irridecent teal tint) large accent stripe, Teal tape deck and hull small accent stripe, White and Teal "MasterCraft" on the sides, Black "ProStar 190 Special Edition" decals on the rear sides, Dark Gray carpet and White custom embriodered upholstery, Custom Kenwood Stereo standard and was on a Black trailer with chrome custom steel wheels. This boat was the forerunner to the line of Sammy Davall Signature Limited Edition boats.
There was also a special line of embroidered clothing for available for the owners of this boat.

That was 1992, Robert Volance with a 1990 Limited Edition towed behind a black/teal trimmed GMC pickup in the Tow Rig Class, finishing 2nd to Jimmy Stevens of LOL w/ a 1989 PS 190 gray/teal, with a matching painted. trimmed Toyoto pickup in 1992 and 1993. I finally found it in the "Star" magazine that we once received from MC 3-4 times a year.

Hello to all.

I am new to the forum and to the brand.

We just purchased a 93 S&S 6 days ago and go to pick it up Saturday. :D

Here are a few picture from the previous owner and our initial sea-trial prior to writing the check. The owner is in the military and had it in a long-term dry doc storage for about 6 years from 02-08. The use it did get was light (398 hours on the clock), so wear is a little less than typical for its age. The trailer could use refinishing though...

BTW, teamtalk and MC's website aided in the decision greatly. I started out looking for a Supra but was considering anything initially.

I then came across this MC vs. Malibu Critique (http://www.waterskis.com/Competition-s/173.htm) and remembered how my father used to talk about owning an inboard Nautique or MC...he never did. I then discovered TeamTalk and the respective forums for other mfgs. There wasn't really a choice after that. It was which MC works best for us from that point on.

In any case, I am sure this forum will continue to be a valued asset and resource in answering questions and solving problems with the S&S.

According to NADA, the 93 S&S 25th anniversary edition came standard with 285hp 351V8 the 330HP LT1 was an option. Please correct me if I am wrong here, but I thought the 25 LE boats had the LT1 as the only available engine.

The S&S is not a Limited Edition at all, just a special order 25th Anniversary trim package, and therefore not numbered... Mine surely is not. However, as Ben stated, I recall reading somewhere on TT that there were 300 25th edition S&S boats made, but I have no proof of that rumour / speculation.

See C36's prostar history post about 3/4 of the way down for engine & trim combination available for 1991-1994 190s. (http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=29236)

Richard, who owns #1 of 25 I assure you has the LT1. Whether it was an option at the time or not, I am not sure.

We also have 2 more of the 25th Anniversary boats, both of which have the LT1 engine. One was sold the other day, but is still "in the family" if you know what I mean.

eddy, it would be nice to see a pic that shows the platinum in the hull. I was not aware they made a blue/platinum combination. I have the blue with white hull with the stars and stripes option. the interior is grey with blue carpet. I have the 351HO/285HP with powerslot. love to ski behind it. my pic is in earlier post.

Also, what lake in the Northeast is it on?

These are IMO the best MasterCrafts ever made.
100 in red
100 in blue
25 platinum
the 285hp 351 ci Ford was standard, the 330hp LT1 was optional
I think there were a couple with LS6 454's also.

There are two Blue and one Red '93 S&S on my lake, the red is my parents, a blue one is mine.

Mayo, Here is a picture of my 93 stars and stripes. Blue/Platinum. Kinda hard to tell in the picture but its hooked to a white pick up so you can see the slight contrast.
I like to boat on Berlin and also like the Ohio river. Its on Springfield Lake in Akron

I have never read that there were only 100 of the blue and 100 of the red 93 S&S. All I know is that it was a $750 some odd dollar option through July 1993.

The STARS AND STRIPES had NO LIMIT from MasterCraft on what could be ordered. This is a RUMOR that has been going around like a bad Virus!

25 on the Platinum is correct as it was the 25th year for MC

Correct!!!!

It is GREAT to see another 25th Anniversary that has the BLUE and Platinum(GRAY), as you call it. My brother in law owned a 1993 Stars and Stripes RED and Gray. These are the only 2 I have seen that have had gray vs.the white... PRETTY COOL indeed!!!

Here's my '93. It just ticked over 200 hours and is for all intents and purposes a brand new boat.
