Hi, its spring again and time to start working on my project. An 89' Tristar 190. I bought it late last fall and took one quick test ride to make sure it ran (the boat is rough). One thing I found was that it would rev well into the 5 grand mark and only see mid 30's MPH. Upon further investigation I found water in the trans (1.5:1 Velvet drive) and the prop has been equally damaged on all three edges (14x18). My question is this, would the water in the trans make it slip causing the over rev/low speed condition or could it be the prop or both? I flushed the trans before winterizing it and plan to change the prop after a shake down run later this spring. Any advice is appreicated.
