I am a longtime lurker here, first time poster. I figured I should join this place to spread the joy of slalom skiing to all who dont understand it. Slalom is sacred. I see all these toobing guys joining here and am wondering what the world is coming to with people toobing behind world class ski boats. I dont understand it. I guess since I am such a strong pusher of slalom that I must be one of those "snobs" or "snooty" types, hence my screen name. I am an advocate of slalom skiing. I ski all the time. Tell me, whats this toobing movement all about? Arent there any diehard slalom freaks like me out there anymore?

My family does 99% slalom skiing, with a little kneeboarding and trick skiing once in a while. Glad to know you're a diehard slalomer!!

ROCK ON SNOOTY SKIER! :toast: :headbang: :wavey: :steering: We NEED more serious slalom skiers! I am not a great skier by any means, but I try my best. I Dont have anything against the other sports at all, I just have a spot in my heart for slalom skiing. I tried wakeboarding several times, didnt like it. I tried toobing, I hated it. I am curious to try hydrofoiling! I may try sometime this summer. Do you ski tournaments or just for fun?

Hello Prambold, thank you for the kind welcome. You must be a slalom skier too. Slalom skiers are generally very nice people, very curteous both on and off the water. Thats why I choose to accociate with slalom skiers. I have a 2005 Mastercraft 197. I ski on a Goode 9700 with the Goode hard boot system. I only use top notch gear. I am totally driven to pushing myself to the absolute limit to be the best skier I can possibly be, and you need the best gear to do that.

There are many of us who believe that the point of owning a boat is having fun on the water, not just so we have something with which to pull a slalom skier. I slalom skied for years...I don't care for it anymore, but I acknowledge it as a valid on-water activity. One of many. It's not better than toobing/wakesurfing/wakeboarding/hydrofoiling/barefooting, just different.

I'm under the impression that slalom skiing number are significantly declining. The sport needs your enthusiasm and evangelism.

IMHO

The best depends on who happens to be in the boat at the time. Sometimes the best is jumping, footing, wakeboarding, making pyramids, slalom skiing, taking a relaxing ride down the river, kneeboarding, tubing, swivel skiing...

The best is having fun with family and friends. :)
