I've been considering one of these portable power supply packs with jump start capabilities, given my boat will soon be in storage at the lake 3 hours away. I saw one on sale today and bought it, but noticed it only says 200CCA for jumpstarts. Seems a little low to me. Anyone know if is enough to cold start an X-1 with a dead battery?

I did some research on this last fall but threw it all away and now can't remember the CCA comparisons.

Valuable tool if you only have one battery. Can save some hassle and 200CCA should be fine for a jump.

I got two batteries and a jump starter... wouldnt leave home without it. They are also great to have when your UNPREPARED friends need a little jump.

I've jumped 2-3 cars so far with mine. They work well as long as it's only a dead battery and fires up quick.

Sounds like a great item to add to the onboard list.

Yeah, I agree, but the 200CCA seemed light to me, given my battery has 750CCA. What I've noticed is these powerpacks are cagey about how they quote their output. You really have to dig to find out what the actual CCA are.

This one is a Xantrex and it says it will jump a car/boat/rv. Hoping I never need it, but figure it's cheap insurance for a weekend at the lake.

If your going to get one, get the best one available.

i have never installed a 2nd battery so i carry one also. Never have had to use it on my boat, but have let others borrow it at the ramp.

seemed to work great.

Perfect example of my problem when I'm researching these things. When you go to that link, they don't tell you what the Cold Cranking Amps are for that model. They only say peak power of 600 watts. What's further odd is that the one I bought this weekend is the lower priced version of that one (the 400) and yet it has a peak power of 750 watts. Go figure.

I'm gonna assume that 200CCA is enough to jump my boat if I ever need it.

this jumperpack sounds like a good idea to me, because when I am going out slalom skiing, I dont want to be stopped by a low battery.

I've used some 1000 watt packs for many years jump starting everything I own (including the boat). But - I have no idea how many cca's it has.

I tried to research last year when mine died, but wasn't satisfied. So, I found a replacement battery for $50.00 for my pack and am very happy with my choice.
