I need to move my tandem axle trailer around in my garage. Anybody have any ideas on how to get this done without hooking it up to the truck?

It's a nut buster by hand. There are dollies available, both powered and manual that serve this purpose

I have one of these but I never use it (single axle)

I'm looking for something that might set under the tires that has some casters so I can move it sideways. Or, maybe a jack that can lift the trailer from under the axles???? I hear about these things but can never actually find them.....

Here's a thought - you'd have to look at the weights involved and see if it will work - certainly you'll need 4 of them, but even so, I think it's a cool idea.

Look at this thread... (http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=14923&highlight=trailer)

Look at this page at Harbor Freight. (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94682)..

Four of these things...would get you 6000 lb capacity (subtract tongue weight from the weight of your boat and trailer combo)...

Even better, but the set of four will only hold 4000 lbs.Might work if he filled his X45 ballast tanks with helium...:D :D

These GoJacks look pretty good - lower profile so maybe better able to get one easier on both wheels of a tandem. It looks like they have some rated at 5000 lb per pair, so 10,000 lbs for 4 of them. But they're spendy.

You can sometimes move a tandem axle by lowering the jack as far as you can. This shifts the weight to the front wheels only and it will move like a single axle.

I have the same problem. Those motorized dollies are expensive. Has anybody put a trailer hitch on the front of his riding lawnmower for moving the trailer around?

I have a trailer hitch on the back of my Dixie Chopper and use it to move my boat in and out. I tried to use my four wheeler but the hitch was to low.
