1.75 qts I think. But a better rule is to just replace what you take out.

George, mine never seems to feel tight when I put it on. Is there a trick to that. However I've done it, it hasn't come off in four years (knock wood).

Hold the rubber plug part and turn the handle clockwise. Expands the rubber to fit snuggly in the hole.

You sure you got it all out Brian? Now I know better than to upset you mod types, but I tend to get more than that out of mine (unless it's always been overfilled in my case) :o

Just finished mine about 1.7 qts in the velvet drive.

The owner's manual for that year says the 1:1 takes 2 quarts. I guess that would be if you could pump it totally dry though.
