so i got pulled over the other day because my truck did not have mud flaps and fender flares. $500 later after putting it all on, the RPD wont sign it off becuase my flaps are a butt hair to narrow...

i dont know what to do now, im thinking about glueing on some rubber base board i found in the shop to make them wider. get it signed off and then remove it. by the way the officer suggested i do something simalar. go figure...

You might just be the guy who put a rock in my windshield. And just because I was tailgaiting!! 8p

Rod,

Do the bare minimum....How much wider do you need to go?

Now on to the real question

How do you like those xterrains? I was thinking of a set for my CJ.

Just a thought.. If you still have the original (stock) wheels and tires. Stick them on it and go back.......... They should be the right width..

i used the stock wheels, and gave away the tires.

Those wheels can't be stock....... Got a buddy or a service truck with stock wheels and tires you can swap out for a few hours?

At least you have mudflaps!! I flip off every truck/trucker without mudflaps. They are the reason I haven't wasted my money on a 3K paint job on my 1972 Nova SS.

FOCUS

Just buy some compareable size flaps. Then cut what you need overlap them and rivet them together with small rivets. Then if you want you can drill out the little rivets and go back to hitting my windshield with rocks!!!!!

dont get me wrong i think its a good thing to have them on. especially when leaving the ski lake which has a dirt road and i fling mud all over my mc.

i do however wonder how much more rocks get thrown from me compared to other vehicles. after i got ticketed , i started paying closer attention to other trucks and cars. one car that really caught my eye was a mercedes ML. it seemed like the tires were more exposed than mine ( after my flaps)..

JMAC, bout those tires, i put my buddies on my tundra for about a thousand miles and they ride awesome. they're smooth, considerably quiet, but pretty pricey...

yes the tires are very quiet for 37". yes the truck is lifted 6"

yes the tires are very quiet for 37". yes the truck is lifted 6" woah that is too big for the girls I date

I do like that look though... no wonder the cops picked you out, that is friggin huge!

I had some 35" baja belted mickeys in the 80's and they were a suprisingly good ride.

Wouldn't you want some mud flaps on there anyway for towing? I know I dont want to throw rocks up at mine.

Rod, I have been ticketed too for mud flaps. Although on the same ticket, no mud flaps, front bumper height too high, rear bumper too high, headlights too high, fenders didn't cover the outside tread of the tires, and window tint to dark. I remember sitting there for awhile while he wrote all of it up.:o
The truck had 9" of lift, 18" wide by 39" tall tires. So they stuck out a touch:rolleyes: ... I had to make custom mud flaps, drop the bumpers, install bushwacker wheel flares, and removed the limo tint. The truck was hardly ever even on the street.
