Pulled the battery out of my boat last night to charge it, and noticed that there is no battery hold down. Just wondering if there is supposed to be one, (figure there should be). If there is, what type is normally used in these boats. The location of the batt is back by the fuel tank if that matters.

My 1994 Prostar 190 has two looped metal brackets attached to the floor. Here a hooked piece of metal connects to it on each side, and goes straight to the top of the battery. A plastic plate is then dropped over the battery, the metal hooks pushed through it, and secured down with wing nuts.

Do the hooks go into the side of the recessed area that the battery sits in, or are there straps on either side of the recess that the hooks go in to?

On my 93, the two metal pieces go into loops on the floor (above the recessed area in which the battery sits).

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks Eastie.
