Farmer - that thing looks sweet, while it may be blasphemous to some, I love it, and I'm sure you will get a lot of use out of it - congrats.

cool
it will turn a 190 into a new boat because of all the storage as well as pulling everything but slalom from up there really opens up the seating

congrats
so where is ND and how far did you have to travel with the boat?

NDT is just up the road from MasterCraft, it was a 1700 mile 4 day round trip

It was awesome to watch Wayne take a bunch of pipes and start marking, cutting, bending and welding my tower. He's got some pretty inovative methods of making the tower and it was cool to be able to see the entire process from start to finish.

About 6 miles out of Maryville, on Hwy 411 between Maryville and Vonore. We stopped by there on our way to visit the factory on the March 12th.

We enjoyed meeting you and having that sweet boat in our shop for the day. One of the coolest looking boats that we have ever had in here. You drove a long distance for that tower and we are glad that you are pleased.

beautiful boat. Noticed on old pics you had a bimini. Do you plan on getting one for the new tower or roll without? I have a 190 with the same tower and am considering adding the bimini....wondered if you plan to do the same. Maybe we can get a discount if we order 2 together:)

I am officially jealous of your 30th. :) Great looking rack....I am leaning towards one more and more. I just got a skylon so I will see how that works for the time being. I am not ready to plunk down the $$ just yet for that bad boy tower.

Thanks for the postive feedback guys!

This whole tower deal took over a year before I finally pulled the trigger.

I do not for one second regret driving 1700 miles to have New Dimension do the tower for my boat. I can't say enough good things about how Wayne and his crew get it done.

That is a nice looking tower. Looking to install something similar on my 98 Prostar. What is the difference between the mini-tower and the full tower? When the tower is folded down does it stick up above the windshield? If so, approximately how much? Thanks.

I think the difference between a full tower and a mini is 12 inches, with the tower folded and the back legs broke down it clears a 7 foot garage door by about 10 inches

folded, it's about 6 or 8 inches about the windshield

Farmer; You just added the most beautiful tower on the most beautiful boat! You've heard me praise your boat for years now! Great going!

However, if you passed up Jack Daniels....I'm starting to wonder....that is like passing goal and not collecting $200.;)

Ted,

Where did you get the blue trailer guide covers? There is a great lake called Tim's Ford right next to the Jack Daniels distillery. I would encourage everyone to stop on in. Our lakehouse is on the Lynchburg side of Tim's Ford.

I got the blue trailer guide covers in 2003, I'd rather have some without writing as it mars up the rubrail

Looks great Farmer!

I still have my opinion that the anniversary boat from production should reflect the essence of the original S&S but you have done a great job of personalizing to fit your needs and not detracting from the original theme.

Farmer, correct me if I'm wrong, but NDT doesn't actually offer a mini tower....right?? So they custom fabricated that for you??? Either way............Looks freakin AWESOME!:headbang:

Mag,

Thanks, I'm very pleased with the outcome, I can't wait to get on the water and try it out.

They do offer Mini Towers, they had never done a Mini for a '98 so when I took the boat in, Wayne Hartford prototyed one on my boat (and took good notes too) so he'd have the info on his file.

So he did "custom" fab it, but if you wanted one for your rig I believe it's available but for a 209 I'd go with a full sized tower.

Considering my lack of height, I thought something a little shorter might work better:D I'd have to climb on the engine cover to hook the rope:rolleyes:

the full tower is only 12" taller, infact they had one sitting on my boat to check the fit of the legs and I almost had them install it, but I just couldn't take the flack from the 2 guys named Brian if I put a full tower on.....

regardless, if you get a NDT you're buying it from the man who designed the contour towers for Mastercraft

here's a 209 with the full tower

How much head clearance is there when standing on the floor? I am 6' tall, just want to make sure it won't end up hitting me on top of the head.

I'm 6' 2" and it's even with my nose, but it's actually higher than our old bimini top, I imagine it will take some getting used to...

cst573
03-29-2007, 10:23 PM
With the full tower I think the clearance is very close to 6' with nothing mounted on it. (speakers,lights,etc...)
