Hi,

Im about to put my boat in the water for the season her in the UK. However as yet she has no name.

I was thinking you guys may have some suggestions. Prefferbly somthing wake related or funny / slighty smutty.

My old boat was called "ship for brains":D

Come on lets hear those ideas!!!!!!

Mine is referred to as "The MasterCraft" or "The Craft"

I did have a few motorcyles that I named... It just felt safer, at the time, to have an endearing name for a machine I did a lot of stupid things on.

Long time ago I found a web site about naming boats and proper protocal and for the life of me I cannot find it so I must not have saved it, so when in doubt "Google it". Look at these they are sort of fun to read!!!

Monday I am lettering my dentist's big pontoon boat, "the Tooth Ferry" before he puts it back in the water for the season. I'll post a pic when I finish.

I was just about to suggest Wet Dream but Slinkyredfoot beat me to it.

There was a 48 foot Ocean Convertible (sport fisherman) in Newport for sale a couple of years ago with that name.

How about quid pro quo?

How well do you know this guy ( The Tooth Fairy ) would be funny. With just a dumb look on your face when he sees it. :D :D

I know the buyer of that boat... It is now called Bam-Boo!!!

I agree, names are for boats that can not be put on trailers....

He is my dentist and a friend and eat breakfast with him every AM @ the "Table of Knowledge", where I am refered to as the "Leader" (don't ask). He asked me last fall for advise on what to name the boat,
"the Tooth Ferry" popped right out and he said, do it next spring. I gonna do the big tooth with a smilie face on it with a tooth hanging out of the grin, you'll see a pic.

How about "glass master" ?

Saw this on a married guy's boat......."Yes Dear"

Here's some of my prior boat names:

INSTIGATOR
INSTIGATOR II
INSTIGATOR III
LIQUID OBSESSION
TENACIOUS

Most were not ski boats, however.
TENACIOUS had a cartoon of the coyote on an ACME rocket chasing after the road runner. He never gives up.

I was saving it but since you are across the big pond I'll share if you like it.

The 91 is named "Wet Dream" and for fun I have the "Port of Pomona KS". I have always wanted a MC since i was a kid watching my pops ski, and tell me how bad he wanted a "true ski boat", so i thought the name was fitting, so did my pops.

We thought about naming ours the "Chub Tub" or the "Bandit" due to the fact it has the exact same colors as the Skoal Bandit. We like both!!!

My favorite is "Fore Play", my MC will be Fore Play II once I actually get around to the lettering. Fore Play I was a '97 21ft Chris Craft cuddy that I made several thousand dollars on after cleaning her up a bit.

Along the same lines, a buddy of mine calls his Bu The Drag Queen. We call mine Walter. (Just a funny reference to being a bit "better" than a Wally) No actual names on either, though.

I'm with you on this duck. I have only ever seen 1 MC with a name on it, and it is my cousins 209. Myself along with everyone at my club sees NO reason to name a MasterCraft, or any other ski boat for that matter. My :twocents:

When we bought our Morgan 40 my dad and his partner couldnt think of a name for weeks up until about 4 am the night before she got pulled for paint... So they did what all rational people do... Stayed up drinking scotch all night brainstorming... After a few hours they started discussing a Black Tie Event the following evening when Anthony Slammed his hand down on the table (breaking it of course) and There she was "Black Tie" wish I had pictures of the main, jib and spinnaker all had a giant Black Tie.

No offense intended but I find naming our MC's right up there with naming a home with a prentious "estate" name. Tastless!

I saw a funny name today in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. "The Reefer" It's a pretty fitting name for this place. They just had a surf contest called "Legalize it in Costa Rica"!
