Well, I have a brand new black cover for my 2005 197 prostar with a MasterCraft logo where the windshield is. The cover has two vents on each side come with poles and stretcher and still in a bag. I don't think I will ever use it cause my boat are always under the canopie of the lift. I need a few gear this summer so I am thinking of selling the cover. How much should I be asking for it ? :D

Thanks,

boatless.

I don't know, but let me know when you find out. I've been looking for a cover for my 190, and I'm going to have to modify whatever I get to fit my tower anyway.

Thanks.

You will truly regret selling it.... plus, I do not think that you will get the money out of it that you would like. A cover is nice to have, just incase the boat ever needs to sit outside in the driveway, at the dealer or any other unforseen conditions. But, to answer you question, I have seen the a few on ebay and they typically have had a Buy-It Now price of ~$300-400

If you call California Skier, they have a cover pattern already modified to fit the 13th floor towers. Just call, request a color and they will have it made and ship it out....

If you ever travel with you boat as in other lakes or rivers for vacation then I would keep it. If not why not make a little cash off it

River Rat,

I am afraid to trailer my boat with a cover on, worry that it might scratch the clear coat due to flexing of the cover in high wind. What do you think ?

Would some one buy my cover for $250.00 plus shipping ?

No not trailer it, cover it over night when you are camping or staying overnight at a strange lake

I would keep it even if I had a lift......

I think you could sell that cover for 500 if you wanted to wait for that just right buyer
250, it oughtta go quick
is it for a tower or non tower 190/197?

Thanks Cameron. They have a cover already setup for a 190 with 13th Floor tower? That'd be awesome. I will track down their # and see what the deal is.

Yeah I wouldn't sell your cover either Boatless. I don't think they money you'll get for it will outweigh the benefit of having a custom cover for your boat.

I just got off the phone if California Skier and 13th Floor. They told me that there is no pattern to go by. They said I would have to take a new cover mark it and send it to their canvas person and they would make the changes.

maybe I just talked to the wrong person.

oh lord here comes the trailering while covered debateNope, ain't gonna do it!
But, if the cover doesn't touch a metalfalake portion of the boat, there is no clearcoat! Regular gelcoat doesn't have clearcoat over it, only the clear gelcoat that is applied before the metalflake is laid down. Just sayin'.

Remember, CSM on May 10, 11, 12, 13 is for Starbrite Teak Oil and trailering with a cover non-believers too!

OK, then what they must have done is just take a cover and had it professionally altered. I have seen a couple of 197's with 13th floor towers, with covers. Anyways, if that is the case, I would order a cover from skiboatcovers.com and he will tell you what measurements he needs to build you one that will fit the tower.

Thanks

My boat came with a cover that was altered to fit. But it has a rip in it. I call my MC dealer and they have not returned my call yet.

I will give these guys a call.

I could have sworn that Aldee (CA Skier's Canvas Shop) had the pattern, because I discussed it with the 13th Floor guy when I was contemplating installing a tower in my 190... maybe the sales guy figured he was just going to have a 190 cover made and then have them alter it to fit my boat?

BC, Is the cover you have for a mini-tower or full tower?i believe both towers mount at the same location, so the cover is only for the deck, and has the four holes with velcro...my boat never sits un-covered, always in a shelter or on a boat lift, so hadn't used it since i picked it up last spring, then broke it out in the fall to put the boat away and sure enough it was the wrong wong...couldn't believe it!!!

if you sell the cover, it may hurt you when you go to sell. Most people prefer to have a cover.

Sodar, you beat me to this. I've got a black 2004 cover in great condition and am probably going to get it modified to fit around my tower once it is installed. It would certainly easier to trade someone or sell it and get one that fits a tower.
