So, I was looking at some properties in west of my town, and then look at them with google earth as well as some other topological software.

As I was scrolling along with G.E., I came across this image. I can believe that I'd get a picture of an airplane, but what's the blueish image that looks like it should be a shadow???

I was under the impression that google earth was not real time, and that must have happened when they originally took the satellite photo. Is it still there if you look at your town? Cool shot though!

It's not real-time. The plane was there at the time of the satellite photo. I'm more interested in the funny looking "shadow" or second plane that's in the pic....

A report on a similar image says the blue image is an artifact from the satellite image resulting from motion of the plane...

It does look pretty interesting...

OK that was a fun little exercise, now I get back to work.....:)

one can catch aircraft in the air at many locations. i've only checked out about 10 airports on google earth and have found 2 planes in the air. one was a U2 at beale AFB. the other was a 737 on approach at san diego. if you're into airplanes (or anything for that matter), it's pretty cool to zoom in and see warbirds parked on the ramp, fighters, outdoor museums, etc.:headbang: i'm sure one could do the same at a big mastercraft dealer... :D
