Air temps reached into the low 70's today, so we couldn't resist the temptation any longer! After a 5 month lay off, we took to the river.

The trusty 2007 197 fired right up and ran flawlessly!:D

Danno (Sassydog) jumped out and took some runs on less than ideal water conditions! Not only was it cold, but we had some serious chop to compete with!:o

I'd have to say that Jim@BAWS provides better water conditions, this was the only down side to the day.

We knew it was early in the season, but I really didn't expect ICE FLOWS on the river:D

Here is Sassydog with his newly acquired toy!

Thanks for arranging everyting Erik! I did make it home after a (short) detour.

As one could imagine, the water was a little cold. I mean ice, ICE, was floating down the river! I didn't know what to expect, but dry suits were definitly in order. At least ya all know know who the dedicate people are on this board!

We'll have to do it again...but I can wait until it warms up a tad bit

Erk! thanks for setting that up, my feet were itching to get back on the water, no matter what the conditions. Barefoot and Cbryan, great to meet you guys. Maybe next time if you both are down this way we can plan a little better and grab a bite and a beer afterward, i was a little pressed for time this time around. Looking foward 'till the next run!

Barefoot,

When I saw you keep going straight I thought oh shyt.....what do I do! I should have got your cell number :(

I couldn't turn around on that road w/ the boat it was just too narrow.

What did you end up taking to get to the highway? How far did you go before you knew it wasn't the right way?

I'm sorry man!

I got all F'd up...I think I took hwy 20 that hooked up with an expressway to O'Hare but spit me out near Ikea. The only thing I remember you saying was 'follow me until I turn into a subdivision.' I thought you were turning into the subdivision. oh, well....I did make it home and would do it again in a heart beat!

They are pretty easy to spot, mostly because they are in big groups of pieces. Almost look like a white foam on top of the water.

And yes, it could hurt your foot BADLY.

I'm jealous, our lake was still completely frozen on Sat. the river is open but too many ice chunks still.
