Hey all...

I took delivery of our new X-14 yesterday, took the day to rig it up. As promised here is a link to some pics of the new boat. http://www.nefwm.com

It's pretty big when you are sitting on it. 2 things you may notice, or not... in the pics, 1) the covering on the windscreen/door. We left it on to protect it, looks like cardboard in the pic. 2) The storage under the end wrap around seat on the starboard next to the engine cover is nice. It is a gas cylinder hatch and fairly deep. Storage under the passenger seat is closer to an X2 than anything else.

This one has the upgraded MCX w/Powerslot, black bimini, Perfect Pass Pro, Depth finder, bow/stern cleats, snap in carpet and the Kgb ballast system. The bow cushion is removable with a non-skid deck underneath.

Bunch of stuff I probably haven't found yet but it's certainly growing on me big time.

If you follow the link, go to the "showroom steals" button, scroll down to the pic of the X14, click on it and open the image gallery.

I would have taken more but my batteries on the camera pooped out. will have more pics up soon.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Jay@NEFWM

i like the look of the boat, if i still needed a croosover boat that would be the top of my list. hoever i dont like the tire tread graphics. the standar mc lettering would be much better ...

In order to do that some might design a 214 w/tower however I'm sure MC is up for anything if someone wanted to switch to the standard MC lettering. I wasn't sure too until it was sitting in front of me. I'm sure it would hide dock marks well! :)

Jay,

How about loading a few pic's here in the thread rather than needing to go through the link? It's more convenient for everyone who's just skimming through threads.

thanks for the pics...looks MUCH better than I expected. I thought it was going to be crowded but looks like plenty of room to get around. The storage you show on the back? Is there room for ski(s) in there?

The rear locker is not for ski's. The storage under the passenger seat is HUGE, could fit a number of ski's in there, also, there is room for some other boards/ equipment under the seat next to the engine cover. Plus, there are other compartments around the boat under the seats. More storage than I thought. Good news.

Thanks for the pics.

Beautiful boat...especially the color scheme with the subtle metal flake accent color.

The pics do not do the interior size justice....I saw the 214 at Redline in Madison, WI and it is HUGE inside and out.

Thanks again.

It is going to be hard working on the engine with an engine compartment like that. Especially on the driver side with the lounge seat.

MasterCraft thought of that. See pics below. The whole cover is on a 2 latch and gas cylinder system, 2 parts, vinyl is the top, carpet piece is the bottom. can lock both together or unlatch to open just the top part of the cover.

(I also added 2 pics of the additional storage not on original post)

Wow! I like how the cover opens! Seems like you can work on the engine easier than with the X9! I also like the seat/storage behind the driver seat! Its usually just wasted space in my boat.. Great idea!

I went to the boat show (Central Mass) yesterday just to see this boat. It's fairly safe to say that if it were in the Boston show, I probably would have bought it! Don't get me wrong I love the boat I bought and am happy with my decision. But if I saw this one first, some of the considerations I made in my new purchase would not have been made.

Based on the feedback from the few (maybe only one) here who have ski'd behind it, I'd say MC has achieved everything they set out to. The only improvement that I'd say could or should be made is if they made the wrap seating removable as ETS suggested.

I truly don't understand some of the negative comments about this boat. It's not the 197, but isn't supposed to be. It's bigger, seats more, higher rated capacity, and ski's almost the same. Hit's a little different market segment than the 197.

And this particular boat has a great color scheme.;)

Has anyone skied behind the x14 yet? Everyone has talked about the way it looks, but has anyone looked at the wake for wakeboarding or the lack of wake for Slalom Skiing

Jaysus, only a handful of X 14s in the world? Our dealer had one and had to send it back because of problems.

What he said, enough pics. How does a 214 ski(non dealer opinion) or ride? Will this wake give us a preview of the new 08 190/197?

jaysus thanks for the pics. Jamie

We bought this boat. She has some of the best graphics. The pictures do not do it justice. My brothers wife was heckling me about them even my wife until they got a real look at her in person. everyone loves it. The wake surpasses expectations in both slalom and wakeboard. I watched Mikey Marsh rip some wicked air off the wake on this boat during our water trial. For me, I am all over it, not quite like Mikey on the board, but the Slalom wake is perfect. Power rips you out. Comfort--this boat has it. Best described as getting the best from the ProStar 190 & 209. Shes' found the sweet spot.

Nice

Congrats Mike & Bill,

Couldn't have found better people to be on this boat than you two. You're right about hitting the sweet spot... If you two keep this boat in the condition you kept the 209, she'll see a long & strong life.

Congrats again, and thanks for the business...talk to you next week.

I had the pleasure of skiing back to back behind a 197 and then the X14 and I must say I was impressed. While I can't say it is identical it is VERY close and WAY better than our X9. With our X9 I'm never 100% comfortable crossing the wake but with this boat I am. I liked it enough to order an X14 and I can't wait for it to arrive.

I wanted to post a picture of my x 14 with the Mastercraft logo on the side of hert...just received it two weeks ago...but the file is too large - any ideas?

The boat is sweet...one of the nicest looking MC I have ever seen if I don't say so myself..

Mag I like your idea, but it wouldn't work on the other side. If the arrows pointed towards the front of the boat on the other side (like the side you showed in the picture) then the arrows would point to the "4" in "14" and you wouldn't be able to have the arrows flow right into the "X". In order to have the arrows flow into the "X" they would have to start at the front of the boat and point backwards with the "X14" towards the back of the boat, and I don't think that would look too good. Again, I like your idea and thanks it looks better than the stock graphic though.

I agree with some poster's comments in that the traditional Mastercraft logo would work well on the X 14. I ordered mine in February with the 400 hp MCX. Haven't skied behind it yet but others say it was great...

That's a sweet looking boat. I wish my MCX had 400 hp too, but it's only 350 hp. I would have had to get a LY6 to get 400 ponies. :D (sorry - couldn't resist). So what is really in there?

Sorry I goofed...it has the 400 HP LY6 - As I was typing the note I was thinking MCX in that I could of saved a wack of dough in keeping the MCX - hope it was worth it.

Still in break in period - don't even have 2 hours on it yet...

Some may be happy to hear the X-14 spins pretty well. Like I said The graffics really grow on you and the boat really hits the sweet spot, for us, between or 190 and the 209
