Today in Edgerton, Wisconsin the 4th annual Winter Waterland ski event took place on the Rock River about 30 miles south of Madison Wisconsin. 38 skiers braved sub zero temps (actual, not those trumped up "wind chill" readings) to participate in this annual event. Paul and Mike from Redline Watersports showed up with a Pro Star 197 and X-2 and at 10 am with a temperature of -1 degree, pulled the first skier off the dock! In fine Wisconsin tradition, this event was held at a riverside bar (the Anchor Inn) and with Bloody Mary's, Miller Lite's and hot chocolate's (for the kids) the spectators kept themselves warm as the skiers pre soaked in the donated hot tub preparing for their arctic adventure up and down the river.
Of the 38 skiers, we had slalom, trick, barefoot, shoe ski, combo, wakeboard, double barefoot and a kneeboarder who just got back from National Guard duty in Quatar last night! From 80's and Humvee's to single digits and an ice clad X-2! Pretty cool.

Ryan Williams and Jeremy Anderson started this event 4 years ago as an extension of their quest to ski 12 months a year in Wisconsin. Redline and MasterCraft have been proud sponsors since the beginning and as driver who just got done pulling half of the skiers, I can say that the best part of the job is the look when they take a fall and get the full effect of the 35 degree water on their face as it mixes with the 0 degree air. Priceless!
P.S. If anyone questions how tough MasterCraft's are and how robust the software programming on the Indmar Engines is, stop by the Anchor Inn next January for round 5!
