Had to put my daughter's first cat to sleep this afternoon. I can still remember Amanda picking her out at the SPCA 13 years ago. She wasn't the best looking cat, but she was affectionate as all get out. She had one litter, in my office hair (dontchano) and we kept one of them at..........you guessed it......my daughter's insistence......and he's turned out to be the best damned cat in the world. :)

It was really hard to make the decision to put her down, but she was in pretty bad shape...lost a lot of weight, and probably had a combination of diabetes and heart disease. Rest in Peace Smokie!

Sorry to hear that Bob. Our pets grow on us so much.Ain't that the truth. It's not like I can say she loved going out on the boat, after all she was a cat, but gosh darn they do grow on ya.

Sorry to hear about your cat. I had a cat when I was younger and he was awsome. he got an airborn disease called F.I.P. and he had waight loss and became vary with drawn from everyone. but know I have my puppers. I take her out on the wake surf board and see loves is. It's funny if she's not in the boat she's swiming to it.

Got that t-shirt twice and it definately sucks. First cat was the wife's first child. Both were old and had seen their days. On one hand better for the cat but no easier to do. Definately not looking forward to dealing with my dogs when that day comes.

Tougher on the Daughter for sure. My 16 yo's cat is in much the same shape. Sorry but I can't say I will miss the cat or the bills but I love that girl!:o

Mag, sorry to hear, pets really are one of family and it's hard to lose them. I had a goldfish once and I had the same goldfish for almost 15 years. When he finally started to die, I couldn't even flush him, Lance had to, and I cried. This was only like two years ago. You know you can go get yourself a new kitty, won't replace the one that passed, but it will fill some of the void and give you something new to focus your attention on!

My wife and I had to make that decision decision with our Scottish Terrier about 10 years ago........That was an extremely tough day, ripped our Hearts out to put her down.

That's about the hardest thing to do and I really feel for you and your daughter, but it sounds like you've got real good memories. Take care!!!

Sorry for your loss Mag.

I understand your pain right now. I had to make that choice 2 years ago to put my 'first born' Chiquita the Jungle Cat to sleep. She was 13 years old. I miss her so much. I still see her sometimes out of the corner of my eye laying on the top of the sofa. Kinda comforting that a part of her is still here with me.
