i finally got a chance to take the tower completety off. many of you wonder why i wanted it off, and here is why.

1) i dont need it, i dont wakeboard , tube, surf , etc. on this boat. striclty slalom boat on a private lake

2) looks, i want that pure slalom boat look.

3) wont work with the bimini i want to add.

4) mc cover wont fit , even over just the frame pieces , and i dont want to get it retrofit.

i plugged the holes with a rubber stopper. it look good enough. that way if i do sell the boat later down the road , the buyer can add a tower very easily.

looks good rod ... I figured there would be a larger hole from the tower mount ... so no fiberglass to fill, great.

Booooooo!

But if it were me, I'd get tired of hitting my head on something I never use too.

The tower is designed for slalom skiing in mind

2) looks, i want that pure slalom boat look.

The MINI tower looks awesome and adds value to the boat

3) wont work with the bimini i want to add.

Why not purchase the correct bimini for the tower from MC
Works perfect and has a TON of protection

4) mc cover wont fit , even over just the frame pieces , and i dont want to get it retrofit.

MC makes a cover for your boat the works with a MINI tower
I even have a few in stock...both the new SHARK SKIN type and the older Sunbrella type

i plugged the holes with a rubber stopper. it look good enough. that way if i do sell the boat later down the road , the buyer can add a tower very easily.
Robber Stopper...sounds sort if a stop gap type measure

Looks fine. Let someone else spend the money to fill the holes.

i was thinking about keeping it, but i dont have the room in the garage. i hate to toss it outside and have it get wrecked. so i may sell it .

thansk for the offer on the cover, but i wouldnt want to spend the $$ on a cover to fit over a tower i dont even want . plus the cover that came with the boat is really nice!

Good move Rod. Personally, I think towers are ugly. Those boats look so cool and sleek without them. Putting a tower on a Prostar is like putting a big old luggage rack on the roof of a Ferrari.

But I guess a lot of people disagree...

I agree boats look much better without a tower, especially if you don't need one, but boats look much worse with a wakeboard pole sticking out also.

Good for you rod....... I'd save the tower for the resale if you ever do such..... BTW aluminum and SS don't rust.. You can leave it outside..

Aluminum oxidizes though, (gets whitish)

in those pics, it looks cleaner than I thought it would after removing the tower. plugging the holes is definitely the way to go! Glassing them up can be a nightmare that the best of gelcoat shops cannot conquer.

True:o .... nothing a good polish couldn't handle... the real advice was to keep the tower.... just in case......;)

Agreed. Looks fine. I'd have done the same thing with the tower, only sooner.

Much better without the tower. One down - thousands to go.
