What are some unusual high school mascots?

The Oconomowoc Coons. When I went to Watertown HS, "Cooney" and the Goslings had a bit of a rivalry. Thinking back on it 25 years later it seems kind of lame.

Erk - Are you from Hurley? We used to drive there from MTU because the drinking age was 19 in WI and 21 in MI. I thought Hurley had the most bars per capita than any other city in the US.

As folklore goes, the original mascot was supposed to be an Onagar (I might have spelled that wrong). An Onagar is a wild A$$, so you can see how that one didn't fly.

I always wanted to go to the Horneytown, NC, Horneytown Senior High School, a little town SW of us. Everyone nicknamed them the "STUDS".
They were always good in football, because that was all they had to do besides farm and take care of farm animals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stillwater Ponies - don't know the history, but always wondered why this we aren't the Lumberjacks - town was started by the lumber trade.

Hometown - Morton Potters - used to be a lot of pottery, used to make bake ware like crock pots.

Used to play another school back in the day that were called the Pekin Chinks - no lie - evidently their sister city was Peking. they eventually changed their name to the Dragons.

In Illinois there is the Monmouth Zippers and Fremont Pretzels.
