:D Took my boat up the dealer yesterday for an oil change and to get the ECM flashed so PP will work this year. Should have it back by Fri.

Weird not having my boat at the house.

Anyone else getting ready for spring?

Yep, I went down to the boat storage last Saturday... put in new board racks, new radio, new depth finder, and I'm going to put a hot water shower in this weekend and hopefully go out Sunday.

I was going to run it while I was there, but I killed the battery from listening to the radio while I was working on it! BTW, does anyone have a suggestion for a good battery? I think I had a RangeHandler one time that was a beast.

As of Sunday, I can say that mine is plugged up. Spring maintenance is 99.9% done. I am ready. Just need to grease the steering cable/rudder and adjust the packing nut, both of which I will do on the water on my first outing when my floor panel is up. This season has, like all the rest, been too long coming.

I have started sanding the swim platform and trying to find the time to do the step by step refinishing. Putting together some ideas for new speakers, sub and amp. Just as soon as possible I will be changing all the fluids/impeller/belts and get to cleaning the interior. Temps here have been high enough to take her out and run around the lake but the dang wind just will not give up. Getting just a bit anxious about getting out on the water.

My plan is to hit the water on Sunday but truly I went out twice in Jan so its not the first time out this year. I usually take Feb off so this is nothing new. I have the platform in the garage that might get some much needed attention tomorrow night. Next week she goes in for an oil change to be ready for the spring season. Waaaaahhhhooooooo!!!!

You wouldn't know spring is coming around here...the snow's been falling for the past two days...we're at the height of winter.

Of course, it's supposed to be sunny and warm the rest of the week...maybe time to take the boat out of hibernation

Kudos for gettting out in Feburary but we do live in Texas, buy a drysuit and get out on the water. :D 100 degree rule. Water and air temp added together over 100 and the sun is shinning hit the water. In the last three years I have only seen the water below 50 degrees once and it was 49. I will admit this winter has been colder than the last couple.

We are only 40 minutes from downtown Mayberry (Mt. Airy, NC) and Mt. Pilot (Pilot Mountain) is 30 minutes away, this side of Mayberry. I just told Lynn, we are going to Snappy Lunch Saturday to get a "Porkchop Sandwich"! Link, http://www.thesnappylunch.com/

It's a pancake battered grill fried butteryfly boneless porkchop about 5/8" thick. You can get it for breakdfast with with, mayo, egg, cheese, lettuce tomato. Then for lunch or dinner, if you order it all the way, it comes with Mayo, ketchup, mustard, slice of onion, cole slaw, tomato, lettuce, chili beans on a toasted bun or any way you want it. Enough for 2 people to explode on. When you get through eating you have to wash your hands and face.

Thanks TMC, my mouth is watering to try one. Grill fried I guess means on the flat griddle. I had first thought it was deep fried, but the batter would probably burn to fast. Anyway before this becomes the tex. cooking thread I will let you know how they turn out.

Right, flat griddle, Charlie Dowell (owner/cook) has a flat grill right behind the window in front of the restaurant, and when you walk down the street and look in the window, he smiles at you while he is frying up about 20 of those fillets about the size of your hand, then it's too late to turn back, you have to go inside and wait in line to get a table and get one.

I must say that I am more excited about this season then any before. I have spent the winter getting the boat ready. She got new front and rear seals, timing chain and oil pan gasket just a month ago.New gauges are on the way. New carpet has been ordered for the 2 center panels of the floor and she will get new upholstery in a few weeks too. I got a new stereo for her for on sunday and i have still got to do the hull to bring the color back. All thats left after that is to find a cover for her, then she will be tip top. This has been, without a doubt, a labor of love. Now I am like a kid at Christmas to get her on the water.

I think that with all the Anger going on here lately on other threads we need to remember that SPRING IS COMING and soon we will all get to enjoy our boats and forget about dealers and opinions. I love this forum and hate to see some of the things that have gone on here. I think that mostly everyone on here likes to have fun and meet other MC owners that share there passions. Also I think that a lot of the info that is provided on here is extremely helpful. Let’s all try and remember why we bought a MC.
I know for me that owning one of these boats has been a dream I have had for a very long time. Every day I walk into my garage and see that boat sitting there I feel like a kid with a new toy on X-mass morning.

So lets get back to what’s important and START GETTING OUR BOATS READY FOR SPRING.

Yep, Spring is coming, gonna put out 10-10-10 and lime in the vegatable garden spots and flower pots today. 5 weeks and the plants go in for the first homegrown tomatos and peppers in June. Can't wait for that 1st sammage.
