What should I expect for top speed at basic sea level. Currently running a 3-blade 13 x 14 factory prop and getting 42 mph.

I thought the 97 was 328 HP. Whata RPMs are you turning at WOT? I assume you have a 1:1 transmission. My 97 190 with the 328HP LT1 and powerslot tranny topped at 47.

My '97 with the 275hp TBI and Acme 541 (13x12 3 blade) runs 45-46 mph WOT with two people in the boat. Elevation is about 25ft.

THE HO Corvette motor only came in the 98 PS 190 Anniversary
you probably have the 328 HP Version,

you max speed should be approx 46-47 MPH 5400 RPM

To get exact get some one with a GPS

Andyg - sorry, you are right about the HP is 328. would you think a 1:1 might have a higher top speed than your power slot?

Jim - thank you for the stat of 46-47 at 5400 RPMs. if this is not the case & the boat only does 42 according to the current owner, i wonder if it could be due to the 13x14 factory prop - what else would make a boat not go as fast? i did confirm it was the 328HP and not the 345. thoughts?

In theory a 1:1 tranny should have a higher top end, but a slower hole shot. With that said my 2003 PS197 with the MCX and 1:1 tranny had a lower top end than boats that had the same engine with the powerslot.

PendO - my elevation is mile-high 5280 feet here in the Denver area. However the boat i am talking about is one i am looking at buying and is in Oklahoma getting the 42 MPH top end.

But since the power slot is pushing a larger diameter prop, is it a wash.
