Just thought it would be cool to see the other boats everyone has in their family, besides their MC's. Also include previous boats you have had, because not everyone is able to get a MC their first time out!!!

Here's my '94 Formula 303 that I had a few years ago.

Wisely I sold it before gas went from $2.00 to over $3.00/gal.

My first boat ever was a 1986 6' Zodiak with a 2.5 horse Yamaha (I am sure I can dig up some pictures). My granddad bought it for me, because he always said "It is a big bumper boat, he can drive it into anything and can't hurt anything...." Once I learned to dock a little better I got this 1989 13' Boston Whaler. I kept this up until I bought my MasterCraft in 2003. I have had 3 motors on it and if I had to estimate the hours I put on this this boat, I would estimate it to be in the 5-7,000 hour range...

Funny that was exactly the same I had for my first with an Evinrude (sp) 25 hp. I spent so much time in that thing as a kid I my parents thought I would have become permanently attached to the wheel. Thanks for sharing Sodar I havent thought about that thing in years!

The guy on the next mooring over from us had one of those... his kids and I used to take it out and jump it off the ferry wakes. We beat the crap outta it!! These were the original precursor to the Sea-Doo jet boats I think.

Yeah, my first motor was a 35 horse Merc with manual tilt. I was too small to lift the motor down, so I would have to go find someone in the marina that could lift it down for me!! I used to get my friends and we would ride bikes down to the marina and take it out after school. Not to get all sentimental, but this boat really taught me more life lessons than anything else.... I could have a whole thread just about the stories and experiences I have had on this thing. It was the ultimate freedom for a young kid!

Yup although we were limited to only a couple of canal's at the beach house so that the parents could keep an eye out for us. But it was probably 1st to the Laser's and Sunfish we had. We would ride from school down to the marina and while dad was working on his Sailboat we would either be cruising around in the Whaler or trying to look like we knew what we were doing hiking those boats out.

Mine was a 14' jon boat with a 15hp Johnson. That thing would run 32mph when I was alone... That was my freedom during the years just before driving.

And you're right, a lot of life lessons were learned in those...

We jumped it as well. Solid boat just real rear heavy and it took a bit to get on plane. There is a reason they no longer make them.

This was a pretty fast boat! 60+ with the engine trimmed up and a two blade prop. Started to walk pretty bad at that speed, though

A guy I went to high school had a 16' Tahiti in Seafoam metal flake. His was a total beater. When we put our tower Tige, he took our old bimini and mounted it up. The bimini covered about 12' of the 16' boat and I swear, the boat would sail when we would hop it off wakes!!

Ours was teal metal flake with silver metal flake in some areas. The gelcoat was starting to look pretty bad, so we painted it red...

Actually, if that's all she was worth, I'd be tempted to just take her about 10 miles offshore, sink her, and note the location on the gps. I'd have my own secret grouper/snapper spot. But I guess that would be illegal...

That was a great boat to learn on... thankfully the wife thought it was too small and that an X-30 was just right. Who was I to argue? :D And I broke even on it by selling privately.

Too late for your friend but I am sure I could patent some of the MC upgrade wax for others

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I will not be actually purchasing one, until I am able to get myself back into big boats! I am hoping that in about 20 years, I can have something like that sitting on the bow of my boat!!!

Here's our first boat. '05 FourWins FunShip 194. Great first boat. We bought it new two summers ago and have had a great time with it. When we discovered wakeboarding we asked the dealer if a tower would make jumping better. "Of course!" he replied. Silly me. $2k later I was much smarter and lighter in the wallet. Anyway, James at MC of Arkansas is on the water NOW with a buyer. When he's done, we'll be buying the last '06 boat on his lot, a gray/white (backside) X-45 w/the L18 engine. Yippee!
