Somewhat new user to this site ( had an earlier post before my purchase ) but I have been lurking for the last couple of months. I just bought a new X-45 here in Atlanta from Watersports Central. The boat is in production and should be on it's way down here next week sometime. Anyways, trying to figure out the actual weight of the boat. I know the MC website shows a weight of 4,730 lbs but this thing also has a 90 gallon fuel tank. Does this gross weight include a fully full tank or should I add another 600 lbs. or so for actual weight whenI have it in the water.

My dock already has a boat lift, but it's rated for 4500 lbs. I know this is already over the stated limit, but some have told me it can handle a another 500 lbs or so with no problem. Just trying to figure out if I need to change that out as well. Any help you can provide is appreaciated.

As a side note, have enjoyed lurking and have gained a lot of knowledge and insight. Can see I have a lot to learn but looking forward to having my first inboard ( even if it is a V-Drive ).

I'm almost sure that is dry weight. Fuel, gear, passengers who want to get in while it's on the lift, and you may be pushing it. I'm a big believer in overkill when it comes to lifts (the one we use has a 6,000 lb capacity for a 2,500 lb (dry) boat).

Then again, we lift it up pretty high, so I prefer to err on the side of caution.

No thats dry weight. So yes calculate fuel, accessories, ect. What kind of lift is it?

Except your lift appears to be 20' out of the water at times. I couldnt agree more with overkill when it comes to weight capacities and not taking chances.

That's what I thought as well. I have the Econo 4500 now. It was plenty big enough when I purchased for our deckboat but was an idiot and didn't think about future boats. I agree, bigger is always better. Looks like I'll be in the market for a bigger lift now. Anybody have any suggestions for a lift? Here at Lake Lanier, the water moves up/down so much. really need a small draft lift if at all possible. Thanks for quick reply.

I have the kind that anchors to the front of the dock and you drive/slide up on the lift with air/tanks that raise the boat. There was just a post yesterday about lifts and being able to double your cable and use snatch blocks to increase capacity you might look for that.

Thanks, I'll take a look for that post.

Eastie, curious to how much your lift was? Very nice, is it hydraulic?
