Anyone out there in tmcland running an Acme 541 on a 1:1 310 hp Prostar 209? I've seen plenty of posts about them on 190s and 205s but not much on the 209.

I'm pretty sure I'm going with the 541 but would be curiuos about anyone's experience with one on a PS209. I know I dont want the 13 x 11.5 since we mainly ski and rarely wakeboard. From what I can tell I should also skip on the 4 blade Acme #209 based on the rave reviews about the 3 blade 541.

Either one of these props should pop out of the hole a lot better than the 13x14 that's on the boat now.

I don't know that I'd avoid the 543 (13x11.5) just because you use it for slalom. It will give you a better hole shot than the 541, but you will lose some top end and will have to keep an eye on things to avoid overreving it. G-Man ran a 54 on his 93 190 for years with great success due to a short setup on his ski lake.

Proud 541 owner here.

I'm greedy! I want hard acceleration but dont want to kill my top end. The 541 sounds like the best compromise.

I think you'll be really happy with it. That's the same reason I went with it and didn't mess with a four blade. Best of both worlds.

For what it's worth, I went with one towards the end of the year last year on a 197. I'm very pleased. The hole shot is better, 1 MPH improvement on top end, MUCH smoother and it makes a really cool growl at the end of the lake.

I'm also needing to replace the prop on my '01 PS 209. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Lake, If your so greedy maybe you should of stuck with a 93 PS 205 maybe blue and white? They feel pretty fast to me ! Good to hear from you again. I jump on hear once in a while for a little R&R and veg out, makes for good humor.
The barn I put OUR babby in has 3 to 4 foot of snow on the roof now and man I'm getting scared. I cannot get it out either there is plowed snow in front of the door 10 feet high and 35 feet long. Our area was all over the national news for the storms one night we got 18 inches in 6 hours. I'm sick of plowing. Rain coming this weekend OUCH!

Sounds like you found the right prop if anyone knows it's this bunch.

May I suggest an 13 X 11.5 OJ XMP 3-blade. I have found that in most applications our 13 X 11.5 compares to an Acme 13 X 12. You may even try our 12.5 X 12 4-blade. The try before you buy offer still stands to all Team members. If you are interested in a free trial just give me a call.

Man that was one quick boat. I think I'll miss the growl of that 351 the most. Can you put glass packs on a 209!? If withdrawal symptoms get too bad I'll fly north for a pull.

I was in Syracuse on business Jan 29th to Feb 1 but tied up the whole time in meetings. From the looks of it I got out of town before the real heavy snow hit. If I get back up there this summer I'll look you up. Good to hear from you again.

Thanks for the offer Eric. I may take you up on that once things warm up a bit here in Missouri. You mentioned the 4 blade 12.5 x 12 xmp as an option. My 209 currently has a 13x14 OJ Legend, which doesnt seem right. Others on this board said it would have come from the factory with a 13x13 which I would agree with.

I know the XMP 4 blade would outperform the 13x14 legend on holeshot but what about top end? I dont care if I gain top end but I certainly dont want to lose what I've already got.

The 13 X 14 4-blade was used on boats the the LT-1 motor to keep the max RPM down, close to 4800. The 12.5 X 12 4-blade ( which replaced the 13 X 13 LEGEND 4-blade ) should run the same speed but at a higher max RPM, 200-300 more. The 13 X 11.5 3-blade would do the same. Both props should have better low end than the 13 X 14

My Prostar 209 also has the 13x14 prop with the 310 HP TBI motor.
