I have a question about my tranmission. I have a 1995 PS205. I'm not sure what type of transmission I have in it. Every year I've changed the fluid in it and that's all I've ever done. Do I need to do anything else to it. I haven't change the filter screen (if it has one). People talk about cooling sytems getting clouged in the transmission. What are they talking about?

You have a cooler just after your raw water pickup inline to your pump.

Sometimes your cooler will accumulate debris from the water that you boat in

That is on the intake side of the motor, right? The transmission doesn't have a "cooling" system right? How ofter do you clean that thing? I'm all about preventative maintenance. I'm going to Shasta in a couple of of days and need to be ready. I don't want a Malibu or Tige giving me a tow.

It's on the port side of the engine before the raw water pump. You can pull the raw water intake hose off and look inside. You can back flush it from the other side if necessary.
