I need to buy a used boat, and these are my needs:

- Will only use it for the slalom course.

- Have to ship it from miami.

- My budget is 15,000 usd (including a perfect pass)

I´ve being serching on the web for used boats, and i have found some nice ones (Sodars boat is awsome) but i need your help to know what should i keep in mind when buying a used boat.

Other thing, maybe I can pick up the boat on Texas and bring it by land.

Check ETS's FAQ he has a link for a used boat guide. If it helps. Whats wrong with your 197? Bringing one down from Texas would be one hell of a haul!

I am not trying to push my boat on you, but my boat would literally be perfect for your use and for the salt! I am trying to find a buyer that can benefit from the freshwater closed cooling system I had installed on the boat....

The problem of the PS197 is that it is my brothers boat, and he preffers to see it on his garage besides using it. He doesent have time to use it.

Yeah it would!! I just googled Cancun.... I had no idea how far east it was. I always thought Cancun was just south of Texas and never realized how close to Cuba you are!!

Pq2, that is one long drive from Texas to the eastern coast of the Yucatan. Plus, you're going to get tired of hearing that prop guard hit all those topes. ;)

jajajaja, you are right east, this is the land of topes, i was thinking on putting the boat in a truck not to pull it.

They are everywhere. My mom and stepfather live in the jungle near Muna (about an hour south of Merida) for about a month at a time (every other month). When we visit and are out in about, everyone has the responsibility to shout, "Tope!" because not only does whoever is driving typically forget about them, but they tend to be pretty hard to see.

The major highways in the Yucatan are pretty good though. To have it transported, you have increased your cost considerably. May be less expensive to have it towed to miami and shipped, but I don't know. My stepfather imports stuff to the port of New Orleans (or he used to before the storm). If it's no more expensive, that might make it easier to get one of those Texas boats.

you know whats funny about the topes, is that the signals are not before the topes the are over the tope, so they say "tope here".

Im going to search also if i can ship it from new orleans i dont know if they come over to puerto morelos (nearest port from here), but thanks for the tip. I know from miami is very easy, and it takes a week to have it here.

There are a bunch of boats that fit your needs on http://www.onlyinboards.com

here are a few in particular:
http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=714081 (no pic)
http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=535618
http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/boa/278313711.html
http://houston.craigslist.org/boa/275930292.html
http://www.ablboats.com/details.asp?ListingID=71201

on a side not, what is that on the last listing? I've never seen anything like that.

It's a "safe-t-top". It holds a net to protect the driver and observer's from handle pops. It must have been before the invention of shock tubes, cause you can't get one anymore.

thanks onlyinboards, I already ask for information on some of those, also next week Jim will send me more options. Thanks again guys

Thought this ETS post over in the "e-bay finds" thread might be of interest (just in case you haven't seen it yet).

I just saw this picture of a 1991 190 for sale at Rambo Marine (www.rambomarine.com). Nice reverse red gel coat. I've only seen one other like it on an early 90s prostar (can't remember who on here has the other one I've seen). Anyway, thought I'd post a picture of it for grins in case anyone was interested. I'm not in any way affiliated with the sale of this boat. Just thought it was nice looking.
