Company gave us the 'use discretion' notification yesterday, so I'm working 'remotely' today. So far 2-3" of snow is being knocked down by sleet...

Leroy, Did you guys get hammered with snow or what?? Ms. UMP said she got an SUV this week there because the weather was supposed to be bad. When she called last night, she said it was snowing pretty good. She was worried about the snow, and I told her not to worry that she was a "psuedo-yooper" now and she could handle just about any storm. :D

It's always a problem when the weather comes from the north!

Hey UMP, yes we have ~7 inches so far and they are calling for another 7-10 today. Lot of blowing.

Tell Mrs Ump to watch it, on the road here you are either a target or a bullet when you drive in the snow! We don't get much and often like it is now, raining/sleet on the south end of town.

Yea, She is a bit nervous. I hope she does OK in it. She has learned to drive really well in poor weather, but other people can still hit her car, so she needs to be careful.

It's always a problem when the weather comes from the north! Our problem up here is the jet stream continues to dip too far south, which prevents gulf moisture from getting up this far dumping the snow we need. Instead, all the big storms go south these days, across the lower midwest and Iowa/Illinois/Indiana/Ohio get all the snow.

We're only getting a few more inches, maybe 6 or so....

I used to have to shovel a path and shovel a clearing for our Basset Hound, Josephine to go, then the next summer we had an overly green spot in the yard.

Not snowing hard here, although I can't tell if it is snowing right now, or if I'm seeing snow from last night that hasn't hit the ground yet. Windy!!

Good thing I bought this yesterday...........I had a ball with it this morning. Our snow was a heavy wet snow, yet this monster was flinging it 20' in the air! Even made a quick $20 :)

Same here Mag. One of our front landscape trees that is normally over 10' tall is now less than 6' due to ice weight...and it's only going to get worse.

And yes, that snow was heavy. I keep telling myself I have to shovel snow manually to help stay in shape, but then my neighbor comes roaring out with his snowblower...

It's been interesting watching all the blue, pink, and yellow flashes of 'lightning' tonight. We're pretty sure it's transformer and power lines popping. We were without power for about 1hr already and I think the worst is yet to come tonight (wind, ice/sleet).

The bent over bush/tree in the picture below normally stands at least 10ft tall and you can see the light reflecting off the ice coated snow.

Kids' school has already been called off.
