Have anyone done a dash rebuild? Pic`s? Im thinking of making it in Stainless steel any thaughts?

I haven't, but I'd be curious to see how it comes out, mine is beginning to show its age.

I believe your 86 has the same Dash Pod arrangement that my 82 has.

I rebuilt mine, but went with oak instead of stainless. Stainless should be easy, but I suggest you make a template out of cardboard then transfer to the stainless.

I see you have an 88, not an 86. Your dash is different.

As a former Grand Wagoneer owner, I feel it pertinent to pass along that if anyone needs it for his dash, you can buy the 3M woodgrain decal for a few different types of wood at www.stripeman.com.

I used an engraving machine at work and engraved into a plastic plate.
Most local trophy shops have this type of machine and can do this for you. I plan on replacing my switch plate again and change the font somewhat.

I've thought about replacing the plastic panels on my 94 dash where the switches are, the lighter & the stereo. I thought carbon fiber would look pretty cool.

And I thought you were gonna offer some FREE ( slightly used) woodgrain with a "curl" to it......

Bernard Labels makes pre-engraved labels, available at West Marine. Or Blue Sea Systems makes some nice stick on ones, also available at West Marine.
