Hi - just a quick intro. I just ordered my first Mastercraft - an 07 X-15. I've had 4 Malibu Wakesetter VLX's since 1999, and we decided to try something different. We were very happy with the VLX's (hope that doesn't get me kicked out already!), and we're hoping to be even happier with the X-15.

I'd love to see any pics of other X-15's (we have a couple days to finalize our colors, though we're 99% sure on them - black hull, white back, black graphic, slider scheme), and I'd especially like to hear any comments / see pics on both the wakeboard and surf wakes of the X-15.

Hey welcome to the site! Send me an e-mail to kyle@repservices.net and I can send you the pics I got of a 2007 X-15 from the boat show. Enjoy the site and welcome!

Welcome, JCBatt!

I'll be at the AC boat show tomorrow, I'll take pics if they bring any X-15's.

You're from the northeast, what part? I'm in NJ. Lots of wakeboarding going on here this summer.

Black hull will show a lot of wear and tear (i.e. trailer bunks will leave fine scratches). Also black interior equals extra heat one those hot days. I would recommend a white hull and white top.

But any who I'm sure you will enjoy the X-15 get the colors that make you happy.

Welcome to the board.

Thanks for the comments and pictures... please keep them coming. One of my VLX's had a black hull, and I never had a problem with bunk scratches, so I'm not too worried about that (plus, I haven't tended to keep my boats all that long). The top of the boat is mostly white, with a light colored interior. My wife picked the color scheme on the last Malibu and it turned out great, so I let her pick this one too. So if there are going to be any changes, I'll need convincing pictoral evidence that something else looks better! :)

NJSkier, I'm up in northwestern CT, but I unfortunately have to commute to an office down in Piscataway, NJ a couple times a week - where are you located? One of the guys from my dealer (Rob from Inland Inboards) is going to be down there helping out at the show - tell him Jim said hi if you see him there at the MC display.

jcbatt,

I ordered an X-15 as well and it will only get here beginning of May. Did you order it with the attitude adjustment plate ?

I am still thinking about that.

Good choice of boat, I chose the switch model.

JCBATT,
Sorry.... Welcome aboard!!! Which engine did you go with?

Jet - I did not get the attitude adjustment plate. I almost never ski, and I was told the main point of it is to make the ski wake a little better.

Bullitt - thks for the surf wake pics - its doesn't look bad, and with a little additional weight, it looks like it could be very nice.

WakeTN - I got the MCX. As far as other options, we got heat, fiberglass platform, tower mirror, depth finder, MC cover, and a bimini. We kept the stock stereo /w the amp and sub.

JCbatt,

I talked to Rob at the NYC boat show last month........very cool guy!
He said we'll have to come up to Greenwood lake this summer and try that out. What lakes do you ride? (Candlewood, Lillinonah?)

AC boat show didn't have an X-15, but had a 215 there. (red/white)

Here's the color scheme on my X-star..........

Not to start anything but I have a black hull on my 06 197 and as far as wear and tear my looks new. I wax mine once every two weeks and and try to take the trailer as slow as possible. If anyone has anyideas on how to keep the hull new let me know thanks. So far so good

To bullit4888,

We ordered an x-15 with no graphics.... glad to see we aren't the only ones. Really like the looks of your boat. Nice and clean. Ours is a xswitch base without the graphic white top/interior with blue accents, yellow sides and bottom, Navy blue strip and triangle with navy blue top stripe. Had the mastercraft logo put in the rear triangle.

Great choice of boat. I have one on order, as well. This will be my second MC (2004 X-10). Great company...great boats. I've also owned a Malibu (2003 Response LXi). I recommend a factory tour. I toured both Malibu and MC (Malibu has a plant within 20 minutes of the MC plant). This allows for a good comparison. I have always been very happy with MC (the manufacturer, my dealer, and their boats). I went with the Switch gel coat scheme (see above photo). White top; viper red; black stripe; white bottom; silver flake on that angled section on the side, on the transom and on the swim platform; silver flake trailer fenders. I agree with above comment regarding "all black hull"...normal wear marks do show. I went with the 400 hp engine. Did you order the trim tab? Some debate as to wether this is worthwhile for the X-15. Seems to be included on all X-30s that I've seen.

Actually the graphics were never put on and we finally got them put on this winter. I think it looks much better with the graphics on. I have a red X15 on the back now and it breaks up the vertical line between the red and black. i think with the switch graphics pattern on your boat it would look great without graphics.

My 07 X-15 is now up for sale: http://www.tmcowners.com/market/showproduct.php?product=1572&cat=6 or http://www.kentroad.com

Its a great boat, and we have been very happy with it. I think its priced right to sell. Once it goes, we'll be ordering an 08 X-15 or X-2.

Thought I would try to jump start this thread and hope to see some new X-15's. Seen a couple on the water so far. We love our 2008. Went with the '07 graphics though. I thought they were a little cleaner, but I have seen some '08 sliders that look very cool. The blue/white one I've seen on the board here is sweet, and there was a red/white (reverse of ours, new bullseye gfx) one we saw near Traverse City, Michigan this Memorial Day that was excellent.
