1994 prostar 205 corvette engine

I'm looking at buying a 1994 prostar 205 with the FI Corvette engine. The boat has 1020 hours which seems a little high but I've been told it was well cared for. Should I be worried about this many hours on this engine?

If it's truly been babied, you should be good for 2,000 hours and then some as a general rule. Water test it and get a compression test.

I have 1400 hours on my '93 190. And taken care of ut will go a long while.
