So my eBay account was hijacked  and a quad was listed on it. I started to get these emails about a quad that I was selling asking how come it was so cheap, can I have some more pictures, was it ever rolled that kind of thing.

So I go into "My Ebay" and sure enough I am now selling a quad that I don't own. I went and changed all of my passwords for eBay and the secret question then contacted eBay through their online chat form. This nice lady answered then called me on the phone and 10 minutes later it was all taken care of.

I still don't know how they got my password for the account, but it is changed now.

I told my wife that if I could find a quad of that caliber for as cheap as I was selling it that I would by it myself ;)

I think Ebay needs to address this. We all have seen boats posted and it seems that it is happening more often.

It has happened to me as well. They scan user ID's through the community section and then use that ID to try and sign on. Run a password search hack program and if your password is short thier in like flinn. It happened to me when my password was four digits and all numeric. It is substantially (see huge) longer know.

You shoulda kept the quad....
I've seen a lot of that too... saddest thing is they wouldn't be doing that if some poor sap wasn't buying it hook line and sinker....

My credit card info got taken from pay pal thru e-bay. Next thing you know I'm buying stuff in Germany. I canciled the pay pal account but had to do it twice for them to get it right.

I recieved an email a few weeks back. A purchaser that was upset asking where there items are. I responded that I did not know what they were talking about. The email appeared to have come from ebay but since I responded from my blackberry I did not see the web address but did look exactly like Ebay! Two weeks later I get an email asking me to go to my signin screed and a link to my sign in to assist Ebay with security issues. I went to Ebay instead. No messages so I forwarded the email to Ebay and they reponded it was a fraud! The sign in page was an exact copy but the web address was incorrect. Had I hit the link and decided to sigh in they would have had all necessary info!:o So my eBay account was hijacked  and a quad was listed on it. This happen to me as well on a Pay Pall acct. Right before TGiving, I got an email stating a Dell computer was being shipped to some dude in Pa for $699.95, had a prompt to cancel transaction which I did. When I hit the cancel button, it asked for crdit card number, SSN as well as everything else.
The weird thing was it looked so ligit. I called Pay Pal and they assured me it was a hoax. Just be aware of the hoax's and scams going on everywhere.

There is a link to forward questionable emails to on Ebay and I believe PayPal as well. Just forward and in minutes you get a response saying fraud!;)

I just don't remember receiving an email like what you guys are describing, but in my old age I am more forgetful. I tried to get the girl to tell me where the listing originated from but she said that she wasn't able to give out that kind of information. You would think that they could set up something so that if all of a sudden a person who normally signs with an IP address from a local provider isn't that it would raise some flags for them..

But maybe then again there are just to many variables for that to be able to happen

I just checked my paypal account and it all seems to be normal. I guess it is a good idea to have different passwords for everything

eBay will also send you a message on their site in your "My eBay" folder. They rarely, if ever send them to your email address.

If you guys would quit using your real email addresses for those nudie sites (HB) you wouldn't get these emails. :uglyhamme

Our neighbor has just been taken for everything in his checking account. Somebody stole his checking account numbers from PayPal. He didn't find out until his bank started sending him overdraft notices. This just happened like Tuesday this week.
