Saw a guy win the bid on a white '70 GTO Judge the other night, and he was wearing a MC hat!!! Very cool!

Man those 60's muscle cars are bringing some big money these days!
I had the chance to buy my buddy's '70 Chevelle SS, 454 LS-6 all original numbers-matching car back when I was 22 for $7,300! Man am I kicking myself today, that car is worth over $75K!

Man am I kicking myself today, that car is worth over $75K!I was watching the auction also. It's more a pissing match between a few select bidders that want to see who can spend the most $$$$. The prices paid are just insane! Insane I tell you! There were some good deals though..........that 1920 something Packard that went for $22,000

To someone, I am sure it would be....;)

Sold my 1969 GTO matching numbers back some time ago for (I think) $3000.00....How would that sound to an auctioneer today...

I wish my wife was that happy when I spend $100,000? + On a car
There were some deals, and then there were some OMG why did they pay that?
Same old song and dance Cuda, Shelby Big $$$$$

The auction is entertaining. Its more entertaining for me to watch my dad watching it. He gets so fired up! Not on the high dollar stuff, but the low end stuff, the stuff he could afford. I swear he almost went for the phone once last year! I laughed! The stuff he likes and would want is the stuff nobody really cares about, the stuff that sells for $25,000 or less. Some of those retro-mods and the "not restoration perfect" stuff. The driverable stuff, not the collectables. I swear if he ever attends one of those auctions, he will come out of there buying something. I really would like to do that sometime, take him to one and watch him flip out over all those cars. He also likes the entertainment factor of the high dollar stuff, just to see what rediculous money it brings. That personal car of Carol Shelby's for 5 mil was just NUTS! NUTS!!:eek3:

I have a 1972 Chevy Nova SS numbers matching car with factory air conditioning in my garage I have had since I was 17. I bought it from a coke dealer who had a guy sign him over the title because he owed him $2500. That's right I paid $2500 in 1995. I restored it with my father while in high school. I know it's worth a ton as slightly less than 2000 super sports with factory air were produced in 72. I will probably keep it and pass it on to my kids.

The car was lot number 1316 on Saturday. It was a late entry into the auction and I was not aware that it was going through the auction until Thursday. The pictures on the Barrett-Jackson web site are not the car I bought but a similar one that they used at the last minute to get some advertising about the car. I think this helped keep the price on the car relatively low.

I have wanted a Judge since I bought my first car a 1970 GTO which I still own. This one was rare being a Ram Air IV Judge that was used by Pontiac as the show car and photo car for the 1970 Pontiac Brochure. I was hoping to have pictures tonight but my friends have failed me. I will take some at the end of the week when they deliver it.

RexDog1 – I wish my wife was that happy I bought the car. The gal sitting next to me at the auction was my sister. Some of my gear-head blood is in her system and she is a diehard car nut. My wife on the other hand was at home in shock that I paid that much for an old car. She is now eyeing Bentley’s and a new Mercedes. I’m trying to convince her it’s not a spending competition…..

I have the cars original paint code (I have the original order papers when it was bought in Ft Worth) and it was Silver Pewter Metallic but I didn't find out the paint code until after I had painted the car the identical color it was when I bought it. I am going to do a frame off resto in a couple years and go back to the silver. With the black vinyl top and the side molding it will look incredible silver.

Thanks again for all the kind comments about the car. All of the stripes and colors on the car are stock/factory but have been restored. I plan on driving the car on nice days and showing it. You won’t see it spending the night out in front of X’s and O’s though; I have a few other “beaters” that I will take there. It’s a great bar.

Do you have the owner history? I may have owned this car at one time...

I happened to be flipping channels when it came on stage. I could not believe the deal someone got on that rig. Sold for I think $115,000 and the auctioneer kept saying c'mon folks over 1 million invested in this package!!!!

I always chuckle when someone tries to sell a boat, car, truck, etc. that has been heavily modified and worth a fraction of the money put in it...and they always use the line about how much has been "invested." Not really my idea of an investment.

That is what I heard. I did not see it, but pretty ugly and ridiculous in my opinion.

MYMC – I am the second titled owner on the car I bought. It was used by Pontiac Motor Division from October 1969 thru June 1970 as their promotional and advertising car. It was then sold through Jim Causley Pontiac, Detroit Michigan to a local gentleman. It changed hands twice during the restoration before I bought it.

I take it from your question that you owned a Judge. Do you have any specifics on the car you owned? (Engine, options, where it ended up, etc….)

Nope not her... I had 1970 Judge GTO White/blue 455 with auto trans & hood tach. Cool car always felt like it could pull a house down if you hooked it to the bumper!

Enjoy!
