View Full Version : The much anticipated "January Waterski" video

01-16-2007, 12:30 PM
Here's last weekend's skiing in Montreal. Our lake froze solid so we had to move it a bit south to get in a set.

(By the way, this makes more sense if you've already seen the "december waterski" video.)

We will ski until we are frozen out!

you guys rock, nice boats

Since I was the driver of the TT boat, imagine the coldest day and then multiply it by whatever number and then, you will be close to feel how cold it was... February will have to be at BAWS place...!!!

Dang, you guys are crazy. I had to post those links on a local site for all those that think Texas winter skiing is bad.

You guys rock. Great videos. But I do have a couple questions, how did you get the PS 190 out of the water at your house? Was the Avalanche enough or were there track driven excavators involved? Seems like if you had to push the boat IN, that it would take a LOT to get it back out.

Next, how did you talk that dealer into putting those boats in that day????? That dealer deserves a medal for his efforts.

Holy crap, that's dedication! I have some friends that ski year 'round up here. One of these days I'll have to join them.

LOVE that TT in the January video. I want to know if they ever got the '87 or '88 PS 190 out of the water! Very cool videos, thanks for posting.

THANK YOU. Now I don't feel quite as crazy as some of the neighbors have claimed!

I loved the guy putting the slalomski in the car while the little kids were standing there with their snow skis. Classic!

What was the water temp?

01-16-2007, 02:26 PM
OMG, you guys are freaks!

(Why didn't I get an invite?)

01-16-2007, 02:35 PM
That was fantastic!!!!

You guys will fit in quite well here. And kudos to your dealer for hooking you up with new boats this year.

Who's next?!?!

01-16-2007, 02:47 PM
We got the '87 PS 190 out with the Avalanche on the first try. That truck didn't even spin a tire!

We had the boat in gear pushing its way out of the water as well.

Joe (Mazda truck) is still a bit sensitive about his truck getting stuck.

The reason you didn't see it on the video was that the camera battery died, and we had to make up an ending. We started at 9:30 that morning and it was well after dark before we got the boat put away. That, and the fact that it was pretty cold, killed the batteries on both our handycams.

Michel Soucy, the dealer, was very generous to let us use his boats. Let's see what happens when we show up at his door in February.

About two minutes before you black out in that water. These guys bring overcoming your senses to a new level.

First thing we are doing when demoing boat, is to carry a bag with all the safety stuff needed according to the coast guard.
All the vests were easy to reach and the main purpose of a second boat was for being able to be back if anythings happened...

But I can tell you, a PS197 can easily cross 6-7 feet waves when you have a X-45 breaking those in front of you...

P.S.: we are taking care at our marina of all the Canadian coast and police boats in our area, and they were aware but definitly looking at us like plastic knife in a drawer...!!!

Thanks for your support into my role as the dealer, but what can you do when you see those guys so serious about their sport...!!!

P.P.S: Whoever is a member of TEAM MASTERCRAFT and showing up(call before please) at our dealer will always be able to get a pull. So if you plane to come to Montreal for SUMMER holidays, bring your ski

It was -24c (or -11F) with a wind chill of -33c (or -27F) this morning.

I think it may be a while before we ski again.

I guess winter had to start sometime.
