Anyone here do the 3m Protective film film on their vehicle. http://multimedia.mmm.com/mws/mediawebserver.dyn?ttttttb9lEHtNXut2Xuttt6_XdpTTTT 6- or here is a review of it http://www.automotivearticles.com/Clear_Bra_3M.shtml Been looking into getting the front bumper/grill along with the rocker panels done on my Avalanche. The tires throw all kinds of junk up onto the rockers and mud flaps are not an option. I have been doing a bit of reading and seems like most that have it are very happy with the results. It is a little spendy. Total cost is going to be $600 Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with the stuff that they would like to share.

My mom got it for her car and it seems to be holding up and working well. The film has gotten a little rough to the touch so it is not totally smooth, but it is still better than rock chips...

I was thinking about using it on my trailer to avoid rock chips. I have seen it used on RV trailers before

I thought about putting the 3M film on our cars (front clip about 1/3 back on the hood, fenders, bumper, headlights, foglights, etc.).

I went to the body shop and asked them how much it would cost to respray the entire front clip of the car, and it turned out to be not that much more than the clear bra costs...

I figure when I'm really fed up with the rockchips on the front of my car I'll just have it repainted...

I am not sure about the auto application but it works like a champ for the gelcoat above your swim platform. If you put a 3 inch strip of it above the platform you have no more ski and wakeboard dings in the gelcoat. Just make sure the stuff you get is good because the cheaper stuff will yellow after a while.
