Ok, I just ordered the new tires for my old 97 F-150.
I decided to go with MasterCraft Courser A/T's this time.

How should I mount the tires,
White Letters Out or White Letters in?

I guess I am a little anal about my truck and am very careful when parking not to scuff the tires on the curb, but sooner or later it seems I get a scuff on the right side tires and that drives me nuts.

I usually get my tires mounted white letters in for that reason. But since these tires have the same brand name as my boat, I am considering mounting white letters out.

Another factor to consider, my 16 year old daughter will be driving the truck occassionally next year.

You guys make the call!

Go with Michelin
White letter in or out depends on your truck's look
Make your daughter buy her own truck

:D

Black out....

I would go with BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A. I have had them on the last 2 of my trucks and love 'em.

I normally would say white in, but since they say MC on them show them off!

If you can still get 'em, Firestone Destination AT was a great tire for the $$$$.

Always put your white letters out!

I have 64K on the Michlin's I have on it now (letters in/black out) but dicided to save $300 this time. Truck has 122k on it and didn't see the need for a high end tire this time, not sure how long I will have it, but hoping to keep it a couple more years.

If it was a chevy, it would have been in the junkyard long before it got to 122k 8p

Personally I like the blackwall look. I am not good at keeping the outside of my vehicle clean (inside is a different story) and the white lettering ends up looking tan and ugly IMHO.

Not a good picture, but you get the idea. I went with the BFG All Terrain T/A KO 285's and they are awesome in the wet/snow

Now for a followup question.

After having the wheel weights in the same position for 5 years, road salt had gotten between the weight and the wheel and caused a lot of corrosion. Of course the new weights are not in the same place to cover it up.

Any ideas on how I can make this look a little better?

Any ideas on how I can make this look a little better? throw some cash at the tire guy and he can move the tire around on the wheel to at least get the weight near the corroded area.. it will be a hassle but cheaper than buying wheels

BUMP

Any ideas on how to clean up my rims?

I was thinking of a scotch brite pad on a drill?
Maybe with some kind of compound.

TMCNo.1 I know you have an idea.
