Friends,

Hello to all.

Well, for some odd reason, my diving into the frigid waters of good ol' Lake Cumberland last February didn't jolt enough sense into my system to not do it again in 2007. I guess the warm feeling I got from helping the Special Olympics children quickly melted the frost from my more personal parts. So, here we are again, planning for the 2007 event and I have committed to take the plunge once more.

I am asking for your help in giving me a little push back into those icy waters. To those who donated last year, I challenge you to do it again - bigger and better if you can. To you newcomers, it really is worth parting with a few greenbacks to watch my skin turn blue and my lips quiver. The cause is one of the most worthy I have found and I am committed to helping bring smiles to their faces. We saw some pretty large smiles last year. Please visit >>>>Donation Page for Dr. Nautica<<<< (https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=210026&lis=1&kntae210026=DA8987538F82430293F7B59CB71C3D7C&supId=158784827) and donate to show your support.

In addition to donating $$$ to give me the push I need, I also encourage anyone who is able and available to come to the plunge site on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Lee's Ford Marina on beautiful Lake Cumberland to cheer us on and make some noise for this worthiest of causes.

Thank you all in advance for your generosity and kind support for Special Olympics. I have attached a photo from last year's plunge just to prove that I did it!

Sincerely,
David Dyson

Thats a cool idea to for a fundraiser. We used to do the polar bear plunge for fun in lake superior every year on superbowl sunday, but we would have to cut a hole in the ice with a chainsaw first.

Apparently you have to be Canadian to do something like that :D

Actually, there were quite a few TMC members who unselfishly stepped up to the plate last year, and I appreciate that very, very much.

Thank you.

Hey UMP, do you remember when I think it was Vern Miron used to ski out on the Lake Superior in a Santa Claus suit on christmas day? This thread reminds me of that.
