View Full Version : Average age of TT Members

I am just curious what is the average age of TT Members. It seems that I always choose hobbies/interests that primarily involve an older generation. By saying "older generation" I mean older than me (24).

Another thing there is alot of older skiers but heck look at "Banana George" at that rate you have at least 68 years of water skiing ahead of you and you can't beat that. Heres to a good long life!!!!

Edit: That sounded really spoiled... I paid for it myself, he just helped with my financing. Please excuse me!

When I was 19 I had a boat and no house. 10 years later I have a house and no boat. Not the optimal combination, I thought you were supposed to get smarter as you got older.

Luckly, I think I have persuaded my dad to go in halves on a new 197 by next summer, so I should have a boat and a house if it all goes to plan.

28 (just turned at the end of October) first grey hair was at 21. Little lady just turned 23. We're getting married in May so that will be our starting point.

It was mentioned earlier, there are a lot of younger members on the board, I had no idea. I still don't have a MasterCraft, but the first boat was at 19, second at 21, third at 23, fourth at 27. My fourth was my first direct drive, the first 3 had outboards. Someday we'll find a ford motor back where it belongs, in the middle of a ski machine, until then I'll have to work with the used stuff.

Aqua, DO NOT sell your boat to buy a house - the value of the boat will be insignificant compared to the cost of the house, and If you sell the boat and buy the house you won't be able to afford another...Find another way to buy the house!!!!

I do own the boat, so no payments. it just looks like a big down payment sitting in storage right now (and for the next 4 months)

I really dont think that i will sell it though. its just too much fun.

Well actually I never had a Dick Pope..more like a Joe Cash Concave, man that baby was my first slalom and it hung tight. I sitll got it somewhere, then a Western Wood, Maharajah, K2, Kidder and bare feet, I still struggle with wakeboarding:confused:

Bruce

Can't believe I just wiped out my own message. At any rate great trip down memory lane I think I skied all of the above. You are right about the Joe Cash concave(i.Jumpin Joe Cash) that bad boy would flat carve a turn My favorite Western Wood was lost during Katrina along with the Dick Pope and some others. It was all wood ,light grain with mahogony colored insert. Heavy and short. I do still have one Western left "The Rouge" a Mike Suderhoud signature 62". Thanks for the memories!

I still have a Northland Shark I bought back around 1970. That was the first non-flat ski I had and it was great back in its day. It not only had a tunnel concave, it had 6 groves that ran the length of the bottom surface.

I guess that kind of dates me. I am 53 and have been sking since I was 7.
Bought my MasterCraft in 82 and still have it.
