A friend found this and posted it on another site. This was the path he had taken... its sad seeing as he was so close to a lodge and just went the wrong way.

Actually what's really sad is that this guy likely died of stupidity. When I first read the details about this story, I had more anger than sympathy, just like I do whenever someone dies needlessly from their own stupidity or hubris. Particulary when it also impacts others.

From what I read, evidently he missed a turn off the highway, so rather than just TURN AROUND AND GO BACK, they decided to take another road. Another road that was a WINDING MOUNTAIN ROAD COVERED WITH SNOW THAT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF AND HAD NEVER TRAVELED BEFORE. Then they missed another turn and got lost and got stuck.

Sorry, but even if I'm alone I don't do what this guy did, much less with my wife and two kids in the car. This guy died of either ignorance or arrogance. I feel very sad for the family, particularly the kids, but not for him.
