We started Thanksgiving day out with some ski fun before joining up with my family for dinner. Here are some photos from our time on the water. By the way did anyone else go out on the water today?

We were the only boat on the water. It was cold but the only waves on the water were ones we made. Rick having fun.

Looks like a great time out on the lake. Wish I could have gone out recently, just makes me wish these next few months fly by.

A view of ATB from in the boat.

We had a GREAT time but we had to face the fact that winter is on the way. Rick winterized the boat when we got home. :(

Next time out will probably be January 1.

Reeds Lake is in the heart of East Grand Rapids. It's less than 10 minutes away from our house if you take the back streets through the neighborhoods and avoid traffic lights. It's so convenient.

There's one thing that we're used to that strikes friends that we take there as odd. Since the boat launch is in East GR's downtown there is no parking lot for your truck or boat trailer. You have to park a couple of blocks away at the middle school or in a business' parking lot and walk over.

We had a small crowd of people in the park looking at us yesterday. I think they must have thought we were nuts. It was about 40 degrees outside and the water was in the low 30's... somewhere just above freezing.

You're not the only ones that are nuts. Betsy and I got out on lake Mendota yesterday. There were a couple of fishing boats out but we were the only ones skiing. We plan to go again today before the snow starts this weekend.

So I did ski on Thanksgiving Day (3 sets!). This picture is from a set I took behind USA WaterSki's '06 ProStar 197 (provided through BAWS, no less). USA WaterSki's Lake Grew is closed (low water), but the Lake Facility Coordinator has found an "alternative" site for members to get their sets in.

Nice pic's. I'm very jealous. Perhaps when the kids get older, we can do some early/late sets again.
