What happened? Was there something that caused this? We can't upload moving avatars anymore?
Did I miss something?

This site's administrator has disabled animated avatars, I assume. I suppose he might be persuaded if you posted a poll that showed a substantial number of members in favor, but this site is already desperately slow, consistently one of the worst performers on the web from my location (YMMV). I don't know if it's a bad server hop somewhere in the routing, or if TMC just has inadequate bandwidth. If the latter, animated avatars would only exacerbate that problem.

Moderator capabilities are very limited. They can manage some aspects of threads and posts, but site management such as graphics, avatars, images or other functions specific to usergroup management are admin functions - both Beau and ETS are way outside that loop.

Yes, I am of no help in this situation...

But, if you use that as your avatar it would just be puking on your good name. :D

The people at MC are working on it right now. Apparently there is a glitch somewhere. Maybe TT Admin will advise us what's going on if necessary.

This needs to be posted here too, http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showpost.php?p=269310&postcount=2296The ability for users to upload animated avatars is a simple checkbox in the administrator's vBulletin control panel. You're assuming that their intent IS to allow all of us to use animated avatars, but there's some kind of SQL glitch preventing it. This inability came after the site was upgraded to the new style sheet, so maybe that's right, but I'm still suspicious that they are intentionally disabled.

After all, it would probably only be there for a day or so...... Then back to....

My .02

Personally I don't think that the company hosting the site has it on a server equal to that of it's usage. For the non-technical We need an MC and have a bayliner, sure it works but not as well as we would like. Either that or they have bandwidth issues. Bandwidth commercially is not nearly as cheap as it is residentially. Especially for uploads (what the server is doing). It may also have something to do with the server hosting other sites or possibly even Quake III. I don't know that bandwidth is the issue as the odd times that the site is slow (middle of the nite).

From what I have read in other threads, animated avatars before the update stayed, all those since have been denied.

So you are saying we can't reuse any avatars that have been used previously at some point in the history of TMC......?
Or were you "jus' sayin'" for my information...???
