In March of 2001 a good friend of mine was able to get me signed up on a distinguished visitors tour of the USS Enterprise. They picked us up at NAS Jax on a C-2. Then we flew out to the Enterprise which was around 60 mile offshore and did a tailhook landing. What a RUSH!!!. We spent the rest of the day touring the ship. From the bow where the anchor chains are stored to the fantail, and everything in between. We had dinner and lunch with Rear Admiral Henry Ulrich, III. The Admiral's Quarters are PLUSH to say the least. We were assigned officers rooms to spend the night. I was extremely impressed at the enthusiasm of the young men & women aboard the Enterprise. They were very eager to tell you about their job duties aboard the ship and extremely polite.

The next day we continued our tour of the ship, had lunch, then loaded back on the C-2 for a catapult launch. 0 to 180 MPH in 3 seconds! Below is a picture of our group. I am on the right in the blue jacket, check out the F-18 Hornet landing behind us.

This was a great experience, and I want to thank all the men & women serving in our armed forces for defending our rights and keeping the United States of America a FREE country! God Bless All of You!!!
