Hi, does anyone know if these were standard features after a certian year? How much was/is this option?

Was only standard on the LQ9 as far as I know. I think it was some where around $1500 option.

Have it on my LQ9, would be very hard to go back to raw water system. Closed cooling works great, heaters work and last much longer, easy to winterize.

I have the LQ9 engine and the cockpit heater. Does the raw water, or the coolant from the closed cooling system, circulate through the heater.

Anti-freeze flows through the heater , so no need to drain it!

I pull a closed system off my 87 PS 190 this spring . I found it added to much weight & made it hardrer to work on the engine. the boat also ran hotter with it (180f instead of 160f).

The system is still in my garage if anyone is interested.

Coolant provides the heat.

What engine do you have? I have a MCX and really want a closed loop cooling system.
