Is this right or possible, 47 mph at 4700 rpms at 45 degrees outside temp, engine temp 130, light 3 inch chop. I drove for the first time our new 1993 prostar 205 with a 351? Like driving my vette on the water! Couldn't ski I would of froze my ..... off.

Whats the stainless tubes in the back by the fuel tank on both sides? Are they for the speedos?

Cool boat only to dream about for 5 months untill next year.

It's possible. Sounds a little fast though. Most 205's I've been in topped at 43.
Welcome!

Agree. It's possible, but you might want to consider checking your speedos against a GPS.

I told you it ran good! Stainless tubes by the fuel tank are for the speedos. I think it had something to do with the tube blowout when I had the pump hooked up. Look under the observer seat for the pump. It still works if you hook it up. The only reason I unhooked it was when I disconnected the shower pump. I think they were wired on the same circuit breaker. KM

Max RPM stock is 4,600. What prop are you running?

Mine tops at 45.5 (4,600 rpm).

I have no idea but no its a four blade acme maybe, the box is already put away for the winter. Ask LAKE he bought it, up a couple of threads. It may be a secret though I'm impressed I ran those numbers on two seprate runs with me 210 lbs a full tank of gas my 110 pound wife and three 12 year old kids and 1 beer, 4 blankets holy ...

ETS, check out my last post on who knows engins? Thanks

See related post. Its a 13x13 OJ. I think your top end numbers may be a bit optimistic. I saw 45 mph going downhill! It had been a year or so since I had calibrated the speedos as the public lake I ran it on lost its slalom course. Without access to the course I did the standard best guess of 30 mph for 3,000 rpm.

Gotta love the sound of that 351. The 350 in my 209 is just as quick but its too quiet and refined for me.

Has anyone opened up the exhaust on one of these boats and or replaced the baffels. How about the next size up on the carb with a good air cleaner? I have found great gaines in the past with opening up boat exhaust systems, I wonder if Gil makes something.
