Helpful Hint

Yesterday, during our barefoot set a knot was made in my Spectra Line Rope.
After return'n to the dock and it's discovery was noticed, I made an attempt for several hours to remove it w/ no success.

My wife, 8p stepped up and suggested to soak it in water over night to lose'n the material. I got up this morn'n,
went @ it again and in less than 5 minutes removed the knot

There is a riggers knife that has a round blade to take out knots. One of my ski buddies game me one as gas payment. I've used it and it worked great.

Taking a ROPE with a KNOT and hitting the KNOT hard on the dock
will loosen the knot also. The HAMMER trick does work...if it does not loosen in a few blows then the SOAKING trick will work.

Hitting the knot on a dock is an old SHOWSKI trick when knots would
come about and you had to get them out fast...try it you will be
surprised

I've done that as ropes are rolling out.
