My Fantasy Football team probably could, because they have got to play something better than football!
Just a guess, Cardinal's in 7?

Shouldn't there be a "who cares, it's football season" choice in the poll?

Ya know, I heard Milky throws a mean arse curve ball, and Mag looks like he can swing a bat. Lance and Sassy are both in shape, I bet they are good runners, If we had a weekend to practice.......I think we could take em!:D

there is a catch though, if we do play them, I get to play that funky ball park organ!

Hahaha I would have to agree! I always thought baseball was a summer sport. I'm sure summer is gone, just look at my garden! And I still had green tomatoes. Durn frost!

I got alot of enjoyment out of seeing Beltran stand there and watch the home field, 9th inning, bases loaded, 2 out, strike three pitch go right by him.... Handing the big city their second big letdown this month..

Have a nice cold winter rich boy!

Who Cares. Baseball is B-O-R-I-N-G especially on TV.

GO TIGERS!!!

Awesome game last night between Cards and Mets...That nearly-home-run-fly-out-turned-into-a-double-play was beautiful! What was the baserunner thinking?? :uglyhamme:

They play 160 + games and their whole season can be decided by one pitch...I love it.

I think the Cards will take Detroit deep into the Series and possibly win. Versus the Cards, I don't think Kenny Rogers will repeat the stellar performance he had previously this post season.

The Cards remind me of the '02 Angels...they grind it out and find a way to win. BTW, Spezio and Eckstein were on that Angels team and they were not favored to win.

Winning a game 7 on the road is a huge confidence booster for the Cards. Seven days of rest for the Tigers after sweeping the A's doesn't neccessarily give them an edge in this Series. Blah, blah, blah - let's play ball!

That was a pretty sick hook that Adam Wainwright, former farm hand of the no bullpen having Atlanta Braves, threw last night.

Oh I was yelling "throw him the hook, throw him the hook" at the bar.

Did you see the one he threw the batter before Beltran? Holy Cow it was worse. Dropped something like 4 feet. (well it at least looked like it did)

yes, that red stripe thing that shows the path of the ball is awesome
it's a real treat to watch baseball when the big networks cover the game rather than your local network

That was an amazing catch by Chavez. We sat and replayed that double play with TIVO about 6 times before continuing on with the game. That and the last out were no doubt the most fun parts of that game.

A week of rest for the Tigers... good healing time for injuries. A week of rest... maybe hard to keep their heads in the game.

I can't wait for the games to begin!!! Go Tigers!!!

I love how LaRussa seems to do a lot of sneaking around and hiding in the dugout. The guy is smart so I wouldnt' be surprised if he was trying to read the other managers.

It's going to be fun watching how these two managers operate. They're both class acts.

I do live in DFW. It actually goes back before the attacking the cameraman. Back when the players were striking, he gave an interview where he threw a fit about the fans not understanding the union's stand. He went on to say how hard it was on his family that he was striking and how it was affecting him financially. As he was giving the interview...he was standing on the 1st Teebox holding his driver in his hand. Tough picket line! I'm wish they would play the interview down at UAW in Detroit. He might get a different reception at the next home game.

So Rogers' hand was just "dirty"

I don't know about that...It looked pretty "pine-tarish" to me...

But, hey, rules are meant to be broken, right? He knows what the punishment is if they decide that he was breaking the rules...

Major League players break the rules all the time. I see it day in and day out. I've heard tons of stories from both a scout (Pirates) and from a former pitcher...They just don't always get caught.

That doesn't mean that I condone doping! That's going way beyond a pitcher with some pine tar on his lid, or a catcher scuffing the ball against his shin guard buckles...

Too many errors and couldn't get those bats going, but I'm still a Tiger fan! It was their best year in many... by far. Maybe next year will be Detroit's. It'll be a long winter as I wait for the pre-season games next spring.

Wow, I originally guessed Cardinals in 7, like I said guessed. Never thunk they'd won it in 5, well...............................
Now if I could guess my Fantasy Football Team into a 50/50 season, I'd be sitting in high cotton!
