I wish it was for me, but it isn't. My boss is looking to buy a MC and one of our clients offered him this 205 for $24,000. It has less than 300 hours on it, and is very clean. The question of the day is, "is this a good price". I thought I would let you guys decide.

From the Marketplace

Erk's 96 205 (http://www.tmcowners.com/market/showproduct.php?product=1124&cat=5)

Farmer Ted's 30th Anniversary Stars and Stripes (http://www.tmcowners.com/market/showproduct.php?product=1120&cat=5)

Both for less than 20k

My buddy's been looking for a 205 to add to his stable of boats, and his shopping experience would indicate to me that $24,000 is pretty high. He passed on a 96 205 will all the goodies at $20,000 and the last I saw, the guy had dropped his price to $18,500 so he didn't have to winterize and store, but he's had no takers.

Agreed, sounds too high for what I have seen available out there.

The NADA seems a little off though, I put my S&S in there and it said it was only worth 3800.

My pride as a fan isn't doing to well, or my vocal cords for screaming my arse off in Sanford. What a horrible month, the Braves sucked and there season ended, the Dawgs suck and there season is over, the water is dropping and my season is over. I have to go home now, sick day...off to get some booze.

I was talking to a guy that works with my wife the other day and he was questioning Richt. Blows my mind. Said they should be running the ball more. It is hard to run when you are behind.

Water is dropping like a rock and this crap weather we are having is for the birds. 64 and foggy, I hate fog, means my water is cooling off.

High to me. I bought my 1999 230VRS MariStar with 307 hours. one month ago for $23900 and the seller delivered it to my front door(800 mile round trip). He thru in 3 high end HO's 8 top of the line vest two fat sacs with pumps etc. Boat was like new. Also, tandem trailer, bimini top, cover etc.
This is my first MC I feel like I got a good . Who knows.

Very high, I sold my 98 PS 190 480 hours for 18,500 in June. It was immaculate, I had won 1st place 4 times and 1 best of show with it at TMC reunions. I would tell your boss to make him an offer he can't refuse. And if he does refuse to walk away. According to you your season is over. Hard to sell a boat that can't be used for several months. OBTW going to hit 87 here today and water table is fine. SAT

That seems about 2k high for around here in the busy season. Now, you should be looking 20-22 for that boat.

Depending on options/condition.

WOW, I had no idea that those will pull in that much money. I paid ALOT less than that for my 97 205 in excellent condition with a tower and stereo in the begining of June. I didnt think I got that great of a deal but apparently I did.

i can't argue with erkoehler, so I will add my $.02 that that seems maybe $5k too high. I've been seeing 2000 range X-stars with less hours listed for 28-29k.

great looking boat
my opinion, it needs a tower and a LOT of accessories to bring that price

That motor is a horse.. I was really impressed with that setup in a buddy's 98 205 Price is too hi though It was about a 30k boat new

I'm going to let you sell my '97 190 in the middle of next summer if you can get the kind of numbers I have been hearing from you on it.

I guess I sold my mint 99 205 for way to less. I sold at 22K it did help that I already had the new Maristar sitting in the driveway, to take the first reasonable offer.

If MC is going to continue to hold their value this well: I have a 06 Maristar for sale for a mere 120K.:)

this seems way too high to me too. I sold my 1999 maristar 210 with ltr, tower, pp, lots of other stuff with trailer (about 350 hours) for $26,500 last March. The boat was super-clean.

It also depends where your at in the country...the farther North you go, the more money you can get for a boat!

Seems counterinutitive to me. Let's see, shorter season, harsher winter conditions, boat more valuable... What am I missing? Supply/demand issue?

Less use, no saltwater....

Well I was assuming equal hours, and wouldn't less use mean less users/smaller market and less demand?

I wasn't aware that many MC owners run their boats in saltwater. Brackish once in a while maybe, but you pump it out and you're good as new.

I can tell you that around here, it's definately a buyer's market for boats. You post an inflated price and it sits and sits. I take a sort of perverse fun in following the boat ads of people who overprice and then seem to be shocked when their boat sits unsold. Nothing funnier than seeing the word 'FIRM' after an inflated price. Usually followed 2 months later with the words 'PRICE REDUCED' in the ad, with the price dropped by 2%. "Ooo, look honey, that 04 Super Air Nautique with 300 hours has been lowered to $59,500...where's the buy it now button on this thing..."

One thing I would do is somehow get it connected to a diagnostic computer to check the actual running time. The Hobbs meter only shows Key On time and if it was disconnected, they won't jive. Also, it will show any overheats in the last 300 Key On cycles.

I baught my 205 about three years ago with just over 200 hours on it and it was in PERFECT condition. I only gave 18,500.00 for it. It came with the snap covers, Perfect Pass, Heater, Shower. 20,000.00 Still seems way too high

I agree, too high.

I bought my 94 205 (different hull style) 2 years ago with 412 hours.
It is in VERY good shape, no scratches or rips and I paid 15,700.
