Especially in these cold temps, I've become a fan of getting into my Sky Ski on the swim platform instead of in the water. I note that some hydrofoilers cut a slot into their swim platform to prevent the precarious balancing act as well as minimize chipping of lower edge from the foil strut.

Anybody with experience in cutting such a slot? Pitfalls?

Post a pic of your platform. There may be a way to notch the platform but also may be a way to temp mount an attachment to the side or rear of the platform that can be added and removed easily. A clamp or vise type of an extention comes to mind. If done correctly no damage/alteration and a quick on off performed by the third.
Just a thought,

That platform that you posted looks like a teak deck that has been Traxxed. I am guessing the just removed one of the pieces of wood from inbetween the longer boards. With a fiberglass platform I would imagine you just need to get out the jigsaw with a fine cut blade then sand the rough edges.
