I'm not a doctor but I own a Mastercraft:

An elbow fracture carries the risk of potentially serious and disabling complications. If you think your elbow may be fractured, you should seek medical attention at a hospitalís emergency department immediately.
If you have only mild swelling, and no bruising, open wounds, or loss of feeling, you may consider calling a doctor prior to seeking emergency medical attention.
If your elbow shows any of the following problems after an injury to your arm, you should go to a emergency department.
You have swelling at or near the elbow.
You notice any deformity of the elbow or the areas near the elbow.
If you have any doubts, compare your injured elbow to your uninjured one. If you have a new lump or bump, go to the emergency department.
You hear or feel grinding, popping, or clicking as you move your elbow, wrist, or hand.
Your elbow "catches" at the joint.
Your normal elbow motion becomes limited.
You see any discoloration of the elbow or areas near the elbow. A bluish, purplish, or blackish color may mean you are bleeding into, or near, your elbow. A reddish color may signal infection.
You notice any numbness or tingling of any part of your arm, for instance, a "funny bone" feeling that doesn't go away
Your forearm, wrist, or fingers may feel "dead" and difficult or impossible to move normally.
You have any significant pain in your elbow, forearm, wrist, or hand.
You notice any color or temperature change in your forearm, wrist, or hand.
Your wrist or hand is pale, cool, or bluish. You may have a blockage of blood flow in your injured elbow.
You are bleeding around the elbow area.
You should be able to easily perform the following motions without pain:
Fully straighten your elbow
Fully bend it so that your fingertips touch your shoulder
Turn your palm completely toward the ceiling and toward the floor

Serious Side:

The two most common is a loose body in the joint, or the ulnar nerve jumps out of the groove. A loose body usually has pain associated with it. The nerve may not.

Palpation (whatever that means, rubber hammer?)usually can determine the integrity of the nerve and an Xray or more is needed to determine if a loose body is floating in the joint.

I ruptured(full) an achilles and it was much the same. Sounded and felt like popping a huge rubber band in water. Also felt like someone kicked me in my heel. My advice is go to a specialist and forgo the hospital. They will give you pain killers but if I did not need nor should you. Sports medicine for me. If you don't they say things like; at your age? and will you be partaking in anything that requires you to move? F that! I have a lot of living to do so don't take my miniscus and repair my achilles and fix MILKIES ARM! I ain't dead yet!
PS Milk, if you need a laugh read my earlier post! If you don't think it is funny you may be really injured!

I agree with HB see a specialist ASAP. The ER is a waist of time and money, they're only going to refer you to a specialist.

Palpation is feeling or touching something.. feeling for a shape or size--

I'm not a Dr. but I have palpated tons of cows and while I won't describe this process I will say it doesn't involve a rubber hammer-LOL.

Good luck milk.....

HB pulls his groin every other night. He may be able to give you some advise!

Milk, sorry to hear about the elbow. As said above, it coud be a ligament tear or muscle tear. Either way, a visit to your doctor would probably be the thing to do.

Any swelling or bruising?

Hmmm...come closer, closer to your screen. Closer, closer...nope, can't see it...

Milk, I'd probably recommend heading into the ER with that. I'm wondering about a torn biceps, brachialis, or brachioradialis. A torn biceps is probably #1 on the list given your description. A fracture is unlikely (but not impossible) given the mechanism of injury, and a dislocation is unlikely without a fracture, but it should be examined and Xrayed to be sure, as well as a neurological exam of the hand. You won't get fine nuance of diagnosis in the ER, but it's not likely you'll be able to see an orthopedist very soon, and your typical ER doc is probably better at orthopedic injuries than your typical family doctor.

Good luck with that. If you don't want to hit the ER tonight, get some ice and some ibuprofen. You can take 2400 milligrams of ibuprofen in a 24 hour period - that would be 4 over-the-counter 200 mg tablets every 8 hours. Gentle motion of the arm at the elbow to keep it from stiffening up, no resistance at all.

I pulled it playing R-Ball. I haven't played in a very long time and I was so excited to get a game that I didn't stretch properly. My thigh is still black and blue and it took a few days before it turned black and blue so keep an eye on it Milk.
I would take Macs advice and get it checked out.
I couldn't believe the bruise, I was worried that I had a blood clot.

*Disclaimer

I have had shoulder surgery and slept on my shoulder wrong and it resulted in my being left handed for 2 days. Didn't have any event that would cause the injury that I could remember.
