On this day we skied for about 12 miles in a perfect straight line across Lake Tahoe. It was unforetunate that we got tired because we had another 14 miles (!) of glass in front of us and if we had the energy it would have been fun to rip it up some more.

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't ski down it. It's just wide enough for two boats to pass one another at idle. His explanation for how he did it is, "I was young, and slightly less wise."

Yeah, I did disappear. My internet connection while in the UK didn't work; I got so backed up in email and other stuff, plus I now have a couple more clients to look after **AND** I'm re-doing our ensuite bath/shower (which I promised the wife I'd have done in time for Christmas), so I haven't been here... I'm just waiting for some thinset to dry.. so I thought I'd come and see what I've been missing...

Getting platinum on northwest is not a badge of honor :( but it is nice to be upgraded to 1st class automatically. Actually in Lenoir City TN at mom's this week and on 56k :( Also off for 2 weeks, but travel for 3 weeks again in January, 2 to Nevada City (yahhh, 40 minutes to Boreal, near Tahoe, for night skiing, $99 for night season pass), and one in Huntsville.

I wish I could've gotten a picture of the glass where our course will be next year. But by the time I got my camera, the most erie fog rolled in. It was great. I ran a marker line from the dock to the 3 ball boat path anchor on Sunday. Lowered myself into the water on a lift with a wetsuit on and just about froze. Fortunately there was a john boat handy. I could've skied in it, but swimming in it is a different story. Air temp was 69, but water was still a bit chilly for my taste. The lilly pads are gone, and now, I just need to figure out how to keep them gone.

One of the benefits of living in Utah. Powell is so close.
Utahf, how often is Powell like that? Mead is like an Ocean most of the time and I would spend the time driving if I knew the water was like that enough. I know Powell is down quite a bit, like Mead is, but has it "changed" the lake that much??

The lake has changed, a lot more to see now. More beaches too. Usually in the mornings the water looks like that. In the afternoons in the summer thunderstorms come up. That was in October, when there is not so many people there.

when I got home from work and was watering the tomatoes today...

I think they like the lake water since that's what I put on them...or maybe they just like the view. They are doing pretty good considering they just about got frozen during the last cold spell a few weeks ago.

Oh...and the water looks pretty good too, Huh? Hopefully I'll get the muffler in and be out there tomorrow... :D

The ski club I'm in leases an old quarry from a developer - we've got a few years until he gets to our property but there are several others nearby that look pretty sweet. The problem is that developers are onto that trick, buying them up, and putting megabucks houses on them. Hopefully they aren't all eaten up in the foreseeable future; depending on the lakes around here for course skiing would be really expensive and/or downright depressing!

If yer talkin to me......thanks. I have to admit, though its a family location. My wifes father built the house to retire in and we weekend up there along with them. :D The canopy setup was an all day affair as we had to modify it to sit over the tower. We added 2" galvanized conduit pipe inside of the standard hardware. Not too bad..it keeps the sun off of about 80% of the boat at midday. I'm working on some curtains to keep it totally out of the sun

Yeah, but I'm not that good. I'm learning. I'm trying to get those three guys to teach me. Hey, it is my MasterCraft X7 though. All three of them gave it a big thumbs up as being a great ski boat. I was stoked to hear that.

I'm actually an expert off-road motorcycle racer and haven't had the time to develop my skiing skills because I've been too focused with two wheels. I'm hoping to change all of that. Maybe I can gain some insight on how to get better from reading TT.

I don't have experience with other lakes to compare it to, but I've never had to wait in line for anything. The lake is pretty big, so you can always find a place with no other boats. Not having any development on the shore means it's hardly ever crowded as long as you avoid Memorial Day, the 4th, Labor Day, and the marina.
Plus, the water temp on the 3rd was 84 and clear for about 25 feet down.
Don't know where tomichi(?) is, but you'll have a great time on the lake.
